  1. I will be going to the Red Sox - Yankees next Wednesday night. The Yankee fan whose tickets I will be using also has Tuesday night's game available. He is looking to get $35 for the $56 tickets. He has 2 tickets (total $70). They are handicap accessible seats in a nice location in the lower deck a little behind 3B. If any of you NY/NJ metropolitan area members are interested, send me a PM.
  2. Cora made a mistake not ramping up the starters more quickly in Spring Training. None of them were ready to start the season. It remains to be seen whether saving their arms in spring training will pay dividends in September.
  3. I thought that this thread died a well deserved death almost 4 seasons ago.
  4. At this pace, the Red Sox will be eliminated before the ring ceremony at the Fenway Opener.
  5. I need to be out of the house by 5 am tomorrow.
  6. I had never heard this story. It is shocking in many aspects. The least shocking aspect is that Dykstra would do something so outrageous. What is shocking is that this episode never made its way to the sports pages of the Boston papers. I a sportswriter or announcer didn't hear it first hand, I would think that one of the many witnesses would have given the story to a newspaper writer or TV News guy. Even more surprising to me is that Don Baylor (the Sox DH) didn't pay a visit to Dykstra after the game. He must have heard it from the Sox dugout. Also, I wonder what other Met players like Strawberry and Gooden thought about it.
  7. It is done. Six years $120 million. http://www.mlb.com/redsox/news/xander-bogaerts-red-sox-extension
  8. Just awful. HR Derby.
  9. He really isn't awful. He's just not in the same class as the other 3.
  10. That was awful, but he caught the next one.
  11. I am reminded of a story by Tommy Lasorda. He asked Pedro Guerrero (a hack third baseman) what went through his mind while hunched over at the ''hot corner,'' Guerrero admitted he was thinking: ''Please don't hit the ball to me.'' And what was his second thought? ''Please don't hit it to Sax,'' a reference to Steve Sax, the second baseman who for a long time had problems making the short throw to first base.
  12. The kid is a train wreck at 3B. Wow! This is the kind of thing we worried about when Devers was first called up.
  13. Girardi was terrible.
  14. In all 3 games, our starting pitcher gave up 6 or more runs. They were not ready to begin the season.
  15. We need to cleanse this site of all microaggressions.
  16. Great job coming from behind tonight!
  17. Moreland is an excellent PHer and that is not random.
  18. Barnes gets his first chance to get a save. Two up two down.
  19. 7 run rule in effect 2 games in a row?
  20. Who are these guys that we are playing — the 27 Yankees!
  21. Our pitchers are giving up lots of Porcellos in the first two games.
  22. I have know people who took those drugs for prostate cancer and they are quite effective even at those doses. It is meant to take testosterone to 0. Once they have raped a child they should forfeit their freedom or the ability to have sex, i.e., chemical castration.
