  1. Once a catcher always a catcher. He didn't get any faster by moving to 3B.
  2. White Sox up 2-0 and rallying.
  3. Youk with the HR power two days in a row. Can Wily mo launch one here.
  4. Tonight would have been the night to have rested Ortiz.
  5. The bottom of the 5th was probably going to be their best shot. 1 run in and two men on with no one out and the top of the order coming up. It was set up perfect for a big inning. They get 1 and blow the golden opportunity.
  6. Need a big inning right here.
  7. Even the outs have been loud.
  8. This guy is blowing the lid off this game. When the hell is he going to get his stuff together, or does he just stink? This isn't the O's. Robertson can be tough, and their pen is very tough.
  9. Darren Lewis was a great fielder with a good arm. Many experts think Coco's arm is not as good as Damon's.
  10. It turned out not to be a low risk acquisition unless Theo doesn't count 4 losses in 5 games as a negative. His record is 0-3.
  11. They'll all get playing time, and that should keep them fresh and motivated down the stretch. Playing for your job can bring out the best in these guys.
  12. Against a good RH with a good breaking ball, WMP is still quite helpless. He has been feasting on bums right now. He will not feast on good pitchers that don't live in the middle of the plate. In a big spot against the other teams top reliever, I'd still be more confident with Nixon than WMP. WMP will be an offensive force eventually, and he is on his way, but Nixon is still a tougher out.
  13. If Sox management doesn't want to be outbid, it will not be. They have financial resources second only to the Skanks.
  14. His power outage has been over the last month and a half before he was DL'd. There was a very noticeable drop-off in power production after the middle of June, which is when he said that he originally hurt his arm. He doesn't have the power of WMP. No one does, but he makes more consistent contact and works pitchers better than WMP. If he can get his share of extra base hits, he should get the majority of the PT.
  15. The last month and a half are not a good measure of what he can do. A strained left bicep will hurt power production. When he comes back, he should get the opportunity to show he is healthy and can still drive the ball. Despite the injury, his OBP was still impressive and very helpful in lengthening the lineup and wear down pitchers. Call him a joke is over-stating the case.
  16. The lineup has been struggling lately. When he's healthy, he can fill the 5th slot. He hasn't been healthy for sometime.
  17. He had been injured for some time before he hit the DL. When healthy, he is valuable in the lineup and in the field. He will see substantial palying time.
  18. I agree completely. The pitching, especially the starters, have to step it up big time this week or this team will be a pile of rubble by next Sunday. The starters are going to have to start going 7 regularly. When we get 7 now, it's like a SportdDesk Newsflash. The 2004 streak started when the starters regularly went 7, even the #5 guy.
  19. Also Wells would help the D. He's an elite fielder with a great arm.
  20. According to Jason Johnson, he is almost back where he needs to be.
  21. ...or maybe if Crisp keeps hitting .300 and stealing bases maybe you package him for a starting pitcher and sign V. Wells to play CF.
