  1. And Lowell cleans off the table. He should have been the 5-Hole hitter all year. Tito dicked around too long with Drew and experimenting with Youk and others in that spot. Lowell should bat behind Ortiz and Manny without exception from here on out when all three are in the lineup. We should resign the guy for two years.
  2. Ellsbury and Pedroia doing their jobs and setting the table, but Papi k's on 3 pitches.
  3. Oh goodie! I like the Moose.
  4. Moose did not help his cause today. I would think it would be unlikely for him to get back into the rotation unless the two rookies start to stink up the joint.
  5. He went 5 innings giving up 2 earned runs on 5 hits and 3 walks. He struck out 4 including his 3,000th k. Despite the 3 walks, he had very good command after missing so much time. He topped out each inning from 87-89. mph If he can throw in that range consistently, he will win consistently.
  6. Nah. I think it is the whinining prima dona's his ity bity pinky toe that is bothering him.
  7. FAt Bastard sighting in the Yankee pen. Which fat tub is it?
  8. Co-MVPs-- Lowell and Beckett
  9. I didn't see most of the game. How did Lester's stuff look? He put plenty of guys on base. I saw Ellsbury's catch. It was a great catch, especially considering the way he had to turn his glove to catch the ball. I don't think we would lose much by playing him for Drew, who seems to be a bust. At least Ellsbury has tremendous speed.
  10. You do know that personal observation means nothing. Stats rule here.
  11. ... your turn in the crack pipe.
  12. Oh. I guess it backfired on Torre, because he is going for his closer. Edit: In the 8th
  13. Mild irritation? My god, what has become of the national past time. Carl Furrillo and other players of that time used to work on the docks in the off-season.
  14. Why do the Yankees have a AAA infield playing?
  15. He let Carlos Pena slip through his fingers. He would have been a huge upgrade as the backup first baseman.
  16. That sucked, but they got 15 hits tonight. They'll need to continue tomorrow where they left off tonight.
  17. The O's D gives us life again. Mora muffs a DP ball. 9-8
  18. Why was Patterson playing so deep for Coco? Here's Stinksie in another big spot, and he comes through again!
