  1. If the Red Sox miss the division by 3 or less games, it's directly attributable to the 3 meltdowns from Gag-me. He has added absolutely nothing. What a bust of an acquisition. Our once strong bullpen isn't looking so good right now.
  2. Joe going to Mo in the 9th inning of an 8-4 game with two outs and two on. Mo threw 29 pitches last night. Stupid move by Clueless Joe. Detroit lost tonight, and he has a cakewalk schedule the rest of the way, but he is playing this like it is a World Series game. I don't get it, but it makes me happy that he is wearing out his biggest weapon. BTW: Huff has great #'s against Mo.
  3. I was in Vegas this week. At times I will bet on the Yankees when they are hot. I almost never bet on the Sox. I like to bet with my head and not my heart. I like every other Sox fan wanted to vomit after that game. NY ers out there were hoping for a carryover effect, and even the bookies had the Sox as underdogs on Saturday. Well, after having lost a bunch of games in a row to the Yanks, including a devastating loss on Friday that blew out the bullpen who could blame them for making the red hot Yanks the favorites. I too had a pit in my stomach going into the game, but then I thought, "wait a minute..they have us as a dog in our house with our ace going?" Then I thought we had to win one of the 3 and Saturday was probqably our best bet. I placed a large wager on the Sox for me, and I ordered a double vodka when Jeter hit the first inning homer. My head was right and my gut/heart was wrong. So, am I worried? Hell yes! But my head tells me that if we don't win tomorrow and the next day, we will one of them. Also, we should clean the table against Tampa over the weekend, and at some point before Sunday, the yankees will lose one or two games. It feels better when I realize that my gut is not at all rationale.
  4. Our boys will get them tomorrow.
  5. When the World Series $ meant something to the veterans, they really got into guys for doing things like this. Today, I don't think it is the same. At least you don't hear stories like the story from Enos Slaughter who in his rookie year walked back to the dugout and a veteran told him that if he was tired he could go back to the bushes. Slaughter said that from that day on he hit the top step of the dugout running onto and off the field.
  6. Stupid rookie move by Ellsbury down by 5 runs in the 9th inning. Gone are the days when a veteran would get in a kid's face to make sure he would never do it again.
  7. The guy from the gym may be sorry some day. I had a friend from Brooklyn-- a real street guy. I am from Brooklyn, and I can tell you that this guy was tough. I never found out what he did for a living, but I know that it was on the wrong side of the law. He made the mistake of going to a NY Rangers- Islanders game at MSG in an Islanders Jersey. He was sitting in the blue seats with his friend, a Rangers fan and season ticket holder. He was told to take off the Jersey if he wanted to stay. He told them that he would not take off the Jersey and that they would have to take it off him. Well...they did. He got a good beat down and was thrown down a flight of stairs shirtless, and to add insult to injury he got was removed by security along with his Ranger fan friend who also got two black eyes. This gym guy may be tough, but there is always a tougher guy(s) out there waiting for you.
  8. I don't like the vulgar chants either. I am old enough to remember when the Yankee fans, yes the Yankee Fans, started with the "Boston Sucks" chant and tee-shirts. Many thought that was vulgar at the time, but "sucks" became part of accepted vernacular in our culture. I guess that at some point in the future we will be hearing "f***" during prime time on the major networks and no one will care.
  9. Is Francona ill? He looked terrible yesterday in the dugout interview. His face looked bloated, and he looked ill. I know that he has has numerous health issues. I've been out of town for a week, so I was wondering if I missed some news about him. Maybe he just had a bad cold.
  10. Vulgar chants? Other than "Yankees Suck"?
  11. Schilling needs to get their best clutch hitter.
  12. Thanks for the usual nothing, Drew.
  13. He hasn't pitched in 10 days. He's been resting up for us.
  14. Clemens keeps baiting Pedroia with the high pitch.
  15. Suggest to her politely that there might be something else on TV that she would rather watch. Hopefully, there is more than 1 TV un your household.
  16. The guy is fiercely competitive and proud, and you can tell that he is very frustrated right now and probably more than a bit puzzled about getting back on track.
  17. Right now we are concerned with the playoffs and winning a championship. Management has to be concerned about what his role will be in the post season. No one is thinking about whether this acquisition is a good one for next year or five years down the road, so there's no need to take up the FO banner yet. There will be time enough for that if he shits himself in the post season.
  18. But it doesn't seem that management is even considering this, and that really puzzles me.
  19. Go to a 6 man rotation until the end of the season to give all the starters more recovery time and help refresh their arms. Also, it will help management decide what it wants to do with Bucholz by getting more of a look at him.
  20. They may be forced to go that way if Dice K keeps stinking the place out. The knuckleball is such a crapshoot. It scares me when we have to pin our hopes on it.
  21. I hope the whining about lack of run support stops. The guy is a loser. Let Bucholz have his spot.
  22. Stick a fork in him.
  23. He's stinking up the joint again. Great investment of $102 million.
