  1. Why the hell did Tek call for that high fastball on Garko with 2 strikes? As ORS has said before, that pitch is Tek's Kryptonite so he thinks no one else can hit it. Garko was having trouble with the ball down in the zone and he's such a slow guy. He was a DP waiting to happen on a splitter.
  2. Lowell with the clutch 2 RBI hit. The lineup is just working these guys over. His pitch count is around 80.
  3. Manny's third bases loaded walk. He's a bad man.
  4. Pedroia needs to get selective and get some hits
  5. Nice hitting by Crisp. Carmona is not bringing the ball up at all. When he misses, he's missing low.
  6. He certainly doesn't remind me of the kid who practically ran up to the plate because he couldn't wait to hit.
  7. That was a nice turn by Lugo and Pedroia.
  8. Pedroia swung at two pitches in the dirt.
  9. I didn't think the park would hold that one.
  10. Ump has a tight zone. Edit: I should have bet the over
  11. You are laughing, but that pig is considering whether he wants to pitch again next year. He's running out of suckers.
  12. Keith Foulke will be attempting a comeback. If he's healthy, i wouldn't mind giving him a spot in the pen. http://www.boston.com/sports/baseball/redsox/articles/2007/10/13/foulke_planning_comeback/
  13. This is good news for Sox fans. This will help the Yankees retain their aging superstars for contracts that go well beyond their days as productive players. I am sure that they will also break the bank to keep ARod until age 30-40. That should prompt Captain Giggles to march into Cashman and demand and get a 3 or 4 year extension when he has 1 maybe 2 years left at SS. All of this, of course, will detract from their real need --- building a pitching staff.
  14. I don't think you use Ellsbury for anything other than a pinch runner or late inning defensive replacement. You don't start experimenting in the ALCS. Crisp has been a great fielder this year. Ellsbury certainly is a talented outfieler, but he has not played enough at Fenway to be familiar with all the angles and caroms. It took Crisp a whole year to get to this level of play. I don't mess with it. Ellsbury will get plenty of PT next year.
  15. Game saving diving catch by Taveras on a blast by Tony Clark
  16. I just don't see how AZ can compete with Col. AZ is a bunch of retreads mixed with a few kids. They have a very weak lineup.
  17. When the second HR went over the wall my father and I just looked at each other and said nothing, but the look we had was an unspoken " WTF was that!"
  18. Was the second of those games a Sunday game at Yankee Stadium when David Justice and Paul O'Neil hit homers to win the game after we took the lead against Mo? If so, I was at that game with my Dad who was 80 at the time. We were in the RF grandstand, and those HRs came right towards us. I remeber thinking that they were just flyouts and they kept carrying and carrying. I couldn't believe it. My recollection is that O'neill was pisseed and flipped his bat away thinking he had flown out. Two cheap HRs.
  19. Ortiz and Manny are just a wrecking crew so far in the post season. They are just so good now that it is sick.
  20. Gagne k's the side, but it was not the least bit awe inspiring.
  21. Throw strikes and they get themselves out.
  22. It's the back page story of today's NY Post. Torre made an obscene amount for being a mediocre manager. That had to bother the Boss.
