    Why the hell did Tek call for that high fastball on Garko with 2 strikes? As ORS has said before, that pitch is Tek's Kryptonite so he thinks no one else can hit it. Garko was having trouble with the ball down in the zone and he's such a slow guy. He was a DP waiting to happen on a splitter.

    This is good news for Sox fans. This will help the Yankees retain their aging superstars for contracts that go well beyond their days as productive players. I am sure that they will also break the bank to keep ARod until age 30-40. That should prompt Captain Giggles to march into Cashman and demand and get a 3 or 4 year extension when he has 1 maybe 2 years left at SS. All of this, of course, will detract from their real need --- building a pitching staff.

    I don't think you use Ellsbury for anything other than a pinch runner or late inning defensive replacement. You don't start experimenting in the ALCS. Crisp has been a great fielder this year. Ellsbury certainly is a talented outfieler, but he has not played enough at Fenway to be familiar with all the angles and caroms. It took Crisp a whole year to get to this level of play. I don't mess with it. Ellsbury will get plenty of PT next year.
