  1. He broke the wrong way, but s*** happens.
  2. I am doing my part. I have not moved from my position on the couch since game 4 of the ALCS.
  3. Can't argue with the results so far, or for the season. He was bmuch better than I had expected.
  4. As good as Youk is, he may not make that scoop because he gloe is on the other hand.
  5. Some of us weren't worried about the players, but stupid managerial matchups. Tito didn't let the Lopez move snowball although Timlin, Okajima and MDC did not make life easy for him.
  6. Beating the Braves was the equivalent of beating the Cards.
  7. They had the best record in all of baseball. The Yankees did not really beat major powerhouses in their championship years. After Piazza and Leiter, the 2000 Mets were full of nobody's and over the hill players like Zeile and Ventura. The 1999 John Rocker Atlanta Braves had a bunch of doozies on their roster. Their SS was the immortal Walt Weiss. Check out their Bullpen. They had good stats, but that had to be a function of being in a very inferior NL. Those guys were bags of crap (Rudy Seanez et al)
  8. Go with it, but I am not the final word on this site.
  9. You may be right, but let's not forget that ARod was willing to take less money to get out of Texas. We have no idea what his opinion is about playing in NY. He says he likes it. He always says all the right things. He said the right things in Texas, and he even went along with the charade of being named captain after the Red Sox deal fell through. Maybe he doesn't like 24/7 media coverage. It must be a lot of pressure acting like a phony every minute of every day. San Francisco needs a star now that they have parted ways with the despicable Barry Bonds. ARod would thrive in that low pressure atmosphere.
  10. The big question is whether we will see SOK's tonight.
  11. You are a doctor. Don't you bleed less the second time you get raped in the ass?
  12. I will be sorry to see that loser Don Mattingly go. I can't imagine they'll keep him on the bench. That being said. Girardi is an arrogant ass with a temper. He'll crack under the NY pressure without a doubt. They make a big deal of what he did in Florida, but he walked into a situation where he had an infield that included Uggla, HanRam, and Cabrera-- not bad. That is more talent than the entire Arizona lineup.
  13. The building from within actually happened before 95-96. It happened while the Boss was away on his lifetime ban. The Yankees had the luxury of the Boss being out of the picture and the Red Sox sucking in the early '90's (the dark Butch Hobson era). The Red Sox are very, very good and should be contending for division titles into the foreseeable future, so the Yankees will no doubt make a number of "win-now" moves at the expense of prospects.
  14. Manny and Ortiz are a combined 1 for 15 over the last couple of games. You know what that means. Someone's gonna pay. I wouldn't want to be Aaron Cook tomorrow night. Also, if Lester wins the clincher after coming back from cancer, that would be the stuff that you read in Hollywood scripts.
  15. He's not that articulate, but I think he has some interesting insights.
  16. Yes, a 3 games to none lead. The Sox have outscored their opponents 55-12 over the last 6 games. This is dominating stuff.
  17. If Papelbon throws strikes, this should n't take long with Hawpe. He can't catch up to his fastball.
  18. One out to go to a 3 games to none lead.
  19. Lowell helps manufacture another run.
