  1. Captain Clutch pops out to RF for an inning ending DP. The Yankees fail to take the lead 5-5. DJ's second DP of the day. He's looked positively Lugo-esque this season.
  2. I don't like this line up with Crisp and Lugo at the top.
  3. 5-4 KC with one out and a man on 1st after a Sac Fly by Betamitt
  4. KC is trying to give back the lead in the bottom of the 4th. 5-2 with 2nd and 3rd and no outs.
  5. The Yankees and Pettitte are being spanked at the big bed pan in the Bronx. It's 5-1 after the top of the 3rd.
  6. It's a valid discussion, but not one that some fans are willing to engage in. Some Yankee fans still think Jeter can play SS.
  7. Youkilis is a scary dude. He seems to have a bad temper. According to Youkilis himself, he has had these kind of "conversations" with other team mates.
  8. But we don't have to wonder if we could win a Championship without him.
  9. I guess that Manny will ask to be traded soon.
  10. Best outing of the year by MDC striking out the side.
  11. Fat pig sighting on the Yankee mound. They have raised the white flag.
  12. Julio Lugo continues to have a 20 point OBP lead over Jeter.
  13. Joba's starting debut was unimpressive to be kind. He pretty much stunk. Yankee fans that are expecting him to win 12-15 games need to get a reality check. BTW The pen looked great tonight.
  14. Hansen had some unhittable looking stuff tonight. Plus, he looks to be gaining confidence.
  15. Another Pedroia web gem for the 3rd out.
  16. With Ortiz out of the lineup, they cannot afford to carry crisp's anemic bat in the starting lineup. They need to get another stick in there, e.g. Carter, Moss or Bailey.
  17. Wow, he went 2 2/3 innings in his first start, and people are cheering? 4 walks and people are cheering?
  18. Without Ortiz in the lineup, the offense will have big problems in those games that Crisp plays. What about a lefty[righty platoon of Bailey and Moss?
  19. The only example that i can think of is Roger Clemens in game 6 of the 1986 World Series. Johnny Mac swears that Clemens asked out of the game because of a blister. Roger, of course, denies the accusation. After all that has transpired recently shedding new light on Clemens' lack of veracity, Johnny mac's version of the story has to be given much more weight. I don't think one player has come right out and called Johnny Mac a liar although several have said they believed Clemens. I wonder if any of them were covering for their friend, Rocket, and I wonder if any would have a different opinion today.
  20. I saw him pitch on more than one occasion in 2006, and I never saw him hitting 95 mph. Sometimes scouting reports are a bit exaggerated.
  21. I didn't think much of Anibel Sanchez's stuff and I don't remember him being compared to a young Beckett. Also, because pitching is such a rare commodity, I would have been wary of spending a lot on Burnett who had a history of serious arm injuries at an early age. ***
  22. It's fat pig time on the mound for the yankees. They are starting to raise the white flag.
  23. Stud starters are just so rare that their value is over-inflated. Pitching wins and there is so little of it around. Beckett is a horse and a post season monster with no equal except for possibly Schilling (who may be through).
