    I am no expert on the yankee minor league system, but I heard one of the guys from the MLB Network say that their farm system is underrated, and that they could probably put together an attractive package of prospects for Halladay. All I know, is that the Sox FO must do its best to keep him from the Yankees. He would bring them a World Series title.

    I think Bates for Nomar would be a good deal. For those of you who disagree, ask yourselves the following question: Does Bates have any future with the Red Sox at the major league level? He was promoted to AAA in no small part because they had to open up 1B for Anderson at Portland. As a 25 year old who has accomplished nothing beyond AA, does he have much of a major league future anywhere. A guy with very little chance at a major league future is the perfect trading chip, if you can find someone to take him.

    Nomar can still play, when he is not injured. These other Bozo's that we are comparing him to are bush leaguers. Bailey is a career minor leaguer that can't field. Bates is a 25 year old going nowhere fast. The only valid criticism of getting Nomar, and it is a very valid concern, is his problem staying healthy. You need the bench guys to be ready to take over when the starters get injured or have a problem. That is why I would not give much to get him. If you get him for Bates, that's very little. The peanut vendors with the awesome arms at Fenway are probably worth more to the organization than Bates.

    Nomar is a very accomplished major league hitter. He has always been a very good hitter, and he is at his best hitting at Fenway. The only problem he has had has been stayying healthy. Bailey is a 30 year old minor leaguer. End of story. They are not even in the same league.

    Bailey shouldn't even be allowed to bring a glove to the ballpark.

    Nomar is a huge upgrade over Bailey and Bates. Offensively, it is no-contest, and defensively he is much better than Bailey, who stinks. He is more versatile than Bates in that he can fill in at 3 IF positons. I would n't trade a top prospect to get him, but if they could get him for Bates they couldn't go wrong.

    It would be even better if kennedy went back into the rotation.

    The real question with Burnett is whether he can pitch 2 years in a row without going on the DL. He's never had back to back years with 30+ starts. The closest he came was 27 and 29 in 2001 and 2002.

    My nephew does some business with EMC and he is a pretty good player, so he got an invite to play in a game for the EMC people. My nephew takes me along, because he's the greatest nephew anyone could ever have. Unfortunately, the guy that invited us works for EMC in NY, so I think we will be wearing Yankee jerseys. How weird is that? I am a little concerned that I will burst into flames if I step on the Fenway field wearing a Yankee jersey. I told my friends and family that i hope I drive in the winning run. I will immediately take off the Yankee jersey and put on my 2007 World Series cap and tell the rest of the Yankee fans to suck it, because they couldn't win without a Red Sox fan. lol!! The other possibility is that I throw the game.

    I agree. I think they should be looking to upgrade over Kotsay with someone like LaRoche just in case Lowell is still nagged by injury or breaks down.

    I had the KC feed on for part of the 8th inning when the Red Sox were batting. They didn 't even have the score right. The had the score as 8-4. They forgot about Pedroia's HR.
