  1. Fine. Then can we send him back to the minors and get a real major leaguer?
  2. Then put Lugo at 3rd and Green at SS, but leave the kid on the bench.
  3. It's great to see Pedroia back in the lineup, but here we go again with Bates. Can't Green play 3B with Lugo at SS?
  4. Eveland is a lefty. I wonder whether we will play the same lineup as last night.
  5. This is a public forum. Opinions are posted here. If your opinion is different from mine, I expect you to disagree, but you have no right on this forum to attack a poster because of a view that varies from yours. That's bullying. If you can't win an argument with calm, civil discourse then maybe your argument isn't that strong.
  6. Take a vote. If the members want me out of here, I'll go post with JayHawk Bill. lol!
  7. The second bully coming to the defense of the first bully.
  8. Good keep your promise this time. You add nothing but incoherent nasty remarks anyway. If you are satisfied with Kotsay and Lowrie as sufficient depth for Lowell or some other injury, fine. I don't
  9. They really need to pick up some insurance in case Lowell breaks down. I don't think they wait until after the All Star break to see how it goes. He may be fine for a couple of weeks and then break down. If he breaks down after July 31st, a waiver deal would be much harder to accomplish. They need to prepare for a situation where Lowell will not be available.
  10. I start gagging when I think about it.
  11. How so?
  12. Is he the big league bat that would be the contingency plan if Lowell breaks down. I am not comfortable with that. He should be fighting Lugo and Green for the SS spot. I really don't want to see two of those three in the lineup every night. Do you?
  13. With all the discussion about this kid, who IMO should not be playing for the Sox, I have to wonder why they didn't bring up Carter. I realize that he is a lefty and so is kotsay, but if Kotsay was healthy, he'd be playing against lefties and righties while Bailey was out. At least Carter has had a lot of minor league experience and a few cups of coffee at the major league level. He has been a good hitter at every level, including during his few short stints at the major league level. I'd much rather him hitting against lefties than Bates, who really has no record of accomplishment.
  14. You are probably right about that, but if the guys in the FO are good businessmen, and I think they are, they will put aside the hard feelings and make their decision based on whether he could help the current club. I think he would be valuable insurance on the bench and he could spell Lowell and Youk even if he can only play first. If they could get him for somebody like Bates, let's face it, Bates is never going to crack the Sox lineup at first. I think Nomar would relish the role. He is at the end of his career, but I think he has something to offer coming off the bench.
  15. It was a great father's day, and we had a good laugh too.
  16. I am superstitious. here's a funny story about superstition. My daughter has never seen the Sox lose. She's been at some very exciting games. Just this season, she was at the Ellsbury steal of home against the Yankees. She was at the final game of the last Yankee series. She was also at the Sunday night Tampa game where Papelbon left the tying run on 3B by striking out 3 in a row. On Father's Day, I was at the braves game with my son. When Papelbon was struggling with men on base, I texted my daughter and asked her to send me some luck. She thought i was being silly. I asked her to type "luck" and hit send for Father's day. She did. The next pitch the brave hitter swung at a 3-2 fastball that was about a foot over the hitter's head. Kottaras had to jump out of his crouch to catch it. The next pitch Green hit the ball to RF and the wind blew it around Pesky's Pole. I called my daughter while Dirty Water was playing to thank her. lol!!
  17. Smoltz said he only threw two bad piches. The other 8 hits were off good pitches. They are not that good of an offense to hit so many good pitches.
