  1. Haha! 228 is the Yankee fan version of Example. Do you agree?
  2. We wanted him because he is damn good and we need pitching.
  3. I sense one coming though.
  4. Why would you want to revisit those?
  5. He's had his asshat moments too. Any Yankee fan who comes here should expect the same harsh treatment that Jackson gets. Edit: No one is exempt
  6. ...or continued failure from putting him in situations that are well beyond his development and experience will destroy his psyche and confidence which might cause him to make rash adjustments to his game that will hurt his performance and development? This kid is not being handled properly. He should have been put in the bullpen early last year before his season was a total bust. He would have learned his trade in the pen. They are repeating last year's mistake.
  7. I'm a vampire myself. The situation in my neighborhood never involved anyone going in the house. It was always a drive by. it's not like his house was a drive through window with long line of traffic. Nevertheless, it was suspicious. The guy was a bit of a weirdo. On Halloween, the teens were doing their thing with eggs, shaving cream etc. Someone egged the guys car. He came out with a bat and punched the kid in the face. He was a 13 year old kid. I didn't see it, and he is lucky that I didn't, but a number of the neighborhood kids told me about it.
  8. That's not what was reported today. The Union stated that the players were not told. Did you watch, or did you make up your mind without listening. The God comment was something that Andy said, not me. I agree it was unnecessary and irrelevant to his steroid use, but he chose to tell the press that he prayed to God before he injected himself.
  9. I had a neighbor like that. Cars would come by at night and he would come out to the car with a paper bag exchange the minimum amount of words and go back in his house. The guy worked in the financial sector in NYC and lived in the suburbs on Long Island. A couple of years later, he bought some property nearby and built a huge new house while he was still living on my block. I still have my suspicions.
  10. Exactly, he doesn't have a list of banned substances to match up with supplements that he took in 2003. How could he possibly be expected to know the answer.
  11. Ortiz got f***ed over by those weasel lawyers that leaked this information. This stuff is still sealed so he can't access the information to clear his name. I'll tell you why I tend to believe him. With regard to ARod, he could not take the chance of making this argument because he was the subject of an investigative book and the author may have had other corroborating evidence of steroid use. Ortiz puts himself on the line today that no other incriminating evidence will come out. If it does, he'll look really bad. Regardless of what the 2003 tests showed and regardless of whether he took steroids in 2003, he has passed every test since then.
  12. They put themselves in this situation by letting key acquisitions slip through their fingers. Either Teixeira or Cliff Lee would have been difference makers for the Red Sox. They let the yanks and Phils eat their lunch. Lots of people will whine that you can't outbid the Yankees and that Tex only wanted to play for the Yankees. To me those were just rationalizations. Our owners had his ass in a room and asked him what he wanted, but instead of signing him right then and there they got cute and walked away from the table in an attempt to play hardball. It backfired. Sorry FO save your excuses. What about the Phillies? What is the FO excuse there? There was no bidding war. Our FO brags about all of its great prospects. Couldn't they come up with a package to seal the deal? the Phillies did not clear out all of its best prospects to get Lee. The FO hasn't even done there usual spinning in the press about missing out on Lee, because they probably can't come up with anything remotely plausible. The FO spent half the season ooohing and ahhing about Smoltz and how great it would be when he got activated. What a huge misjudgment. When it didn't work out, it was too late to make other plans.
  13. Yeah, I guess if I had Reddick and Rios available, I'd go with Reddick Don't bust my chops with the conjecture ********. I'm in no mood for you to get cute using my lines.
