Because Hardy's contract is not expensive, the Brewers would probably want some good prospects in return. If we get him, we'll be getting a guy in the midst of a horrendous slump. Guzman on the other hand is playing well, and he'd only cost money not prospects.

Interesting. I wonder if he has been waived. http://www.boston.com/sports/baseball/redsox/extras/extra_bases/2009/08/brewers_demote.html

I hope the rangers sign him to pitch this weekend.

More luck for the Yankees as the Blue Jays give them 5 outs and counting in the first inning. The score is 1-0 Yankees and counting.

    Yes, the reverse lock theory.

Youk got tired of being the guy with the target on his back, so he sent a message. We have three first baseman, so of all the positions to lose a starter at first will cause the least fall off offensively. Youk would have had a tough job topping what Lowell did yesterday.

Get the right mojo for tomorrow and I'll see you guys on the GT. Goodnight.

Good win. It's always nice getting a win when Lester or Beckett don't pitch.

It will be a challenge getting the lead down to 4 by September 1st, but if they do,... watch out.

Tampa is losing 3-0 to the Angels in the 6th.

Joba is one of the luckiest pitchers that I have seen in recent years. No matter how badly he pitches, the Yanks always seem to bail him out of losses.

Maybe since he was looking to bury it in Youk's ribs he didn't see the need to turn up the velocity to 95. Getting hit at 80 smarts a bit too. Jackson, I think you are acting peculiar tonight in light of havving a 5 1/2 game lead and a late inning comeback win tonight. I think this Sox team still has you worried.

Nice inning by Saito. After rain delays, I have flashbacks to that Orioles game, which might be the only game where Smoltz looked good.

Can anyone who lives near Fenway update us on the weather?

I'm all for calling this game, giving the pen a night off, and sending Beckett after them tomorrow.

I like the kid. I just don't think he should be starting games in the middle of a pennant race. The kid has a lot of poise and excellent command considering his minimal experience. Here are my posts about him after seeing him during Spring Training for those who say that I never like the kids. I just don't like throwing them to the wolves. It's unfair to them and the team. http://www.talksox.com/forum/386162-post225.html http://www.talksox.com/forum/387375-post49.html http://www.talksox.com/forum/388216-post6.html http://www.talksox.com/forum/389355-post521.html

Why give away an out when this puss bag is on the hill? Tito is pretty hot. Good for him!

It's our child vs. their child with the score tied.
