  1. If it doesn't work, we may have to criticize the icon Theo.
  2. Cubs have hired David Ross as manager and now they are hiring Napoli to join their coaching staff. Does either one have any coaching or managerial experience? It just goes to prove that the people who fill these roles are very fungible and don't need much if any experience.
  3. It's a good excuse to fire Cora. I wouldn't mind seeing a change of managers.
  4. Sweet deal.
  5. But he would fit perfectly with a loser organization. No one would notice him.
  6. Let's see if he gets it. I don't see how he will do a better job with a small budget than he did with a bloated budget.
  7. Once you have uprooted your family and moved across the country, a huge psychological barrier has been overcome.
  8. We will not get much for 1 year of Mookie. This will not happen, especially in light of Kennedy's statement that the organization wants to keep Mookie for the long term.
  9. I like it. Without his bat, our offense would be anemic.
  10. 1996 NYY vs Atl
  11. I don't think we will ever see that happen again.
  12. ^ This is thinking? It seems like whining about the opinions of others. Just sayin.
  13. I was against it in real time. I also believe that Martinez made a mistake removing Corbin who was dealing. Corbin was better than any of his bullpen options. He had a big lead at that point, so it didn't really matter.
  14. It was a smart move not to give in to Soto. The ump missed a strike pitch to Soto. Greinke was at 80 pitches and his stuff and command was not diminishing. When a guy with his track record is in a groove, you ride that horse. He was better than any bullpen option at that point.
  15. When you have an pitcher with Greinke's pedigree cruising 2 hits and 2 walks in 6 1/3 innings at 80 pitches, you let him finish that inning. Rendon can crush anyone on their best day. Greinke in that spot was better than anyone Hinch could bring in. The reflexive decision to take him out based on metrics was just dumb.
  16. I always get depressed when the World Series ends.
  17. In 2017, the Stros pick up Verlander at the trading deadline. This year they pick up Greinke. Two highly productive 200 game winners. We pick up Pomeranz, Eovaldi and Cashner. What a difference!
  18. He didn't get rich by turning down high profile consultations.
  19. I agree. While an inferior team can win the Championship, it is rare. The cream usually rises to the top. In the NFL, it is more likely that an inferior team can win because of the single game format.
  20. On the call today with Bloom and Sam Kennedy, one of the fans asked about the organization's plan with regard to Mookie. Kennedy said that they have reached out to Mookie and his agent to let them know that they very much want to keep Mookie on the Red Sox long term. That and a Charlie card will get you on the T.
  21. I will be participating in a season ticket holder Q&A session with Bloom at 12:30 today. Is there anything that you think I should ask him?
  22. In Massachusetts that would be true, but many think MA to be in the minority and strange.
  23. JD is an elite power bat. Hopefully, he stays. Losing him would devastate the offensive production.
  24. You are in the minority.
  25. What do we know about this guy?
