  1. Okay, so you are trolling me with Duda. I think he has retired.
  2. We didn’t need an interesting offseason last year, because we played until the end of October and were able to bask in the glow of the greatest season in team history. In the off-season before, they signed JD Martinez, Mitch Moreland and Eduardo Nunez. That was pretty interesting. The off-season before that we acquired Chris Sale and Mitch Moreland. That was very interesting. The off-season before that we acquired David Price, Craig Kimbrel, Chris Young, and Carson Smith. That was very active and very interesting.
  3. My “garbage” comment was hyperbole.
  4. The bullpen needs retooling, regardless of any interpretation of last years stats. Workman was a nice surprise last season, but I am not ready to anoint him as today’s Bruce Sutter. Matt Barnes’ shelf life has probably expired. There are just no quality dependable arms in our pen. It is a collection of garbage.
  5. The rumor re Price didn't even ballpark the salary relief. That is not even a rumored a plan.
  6. At least with the Lindor ruling, the Dodger fans had a targeted player to be acquired. The rumors about Price didn't contemplate us getting any talent in return except possibly a broken down Wil Myers. Isn't Allen Craig available?
  7. Unfortunately, we are just guessing. All we know is that he hasn't begun to execute any plan as the calendar turns to 2020. As for Betts getting traded, that would be a tough swallow for him as he has made repeated statements that the Red Sox will make every effort to keep Betts long term. I don't see it happening.
  8. Those rumors were so vague and there were no interesting names coming back our way. They seemed to be very unserious speculation.
  9. I really can’t think of anyone here recommending spending. Moves would be nice. If they are going to sell, then sell. If he is going to stand pat and build around the edges, then do that. It would just be nice to see some sign of life or of a plan. I haven’t seen anyone advocating spending.
  10. Your generalizations are nonsensical.
  11. What do you think?
  12. Quick Hits: Cishek, Red Sox, Cubs, Guardians December 29th, 2019 at 10:38am CST • By Anthony Franco We’ll highlight a couple notes from around the league to kick off Sunday morning. Veteran reliever Steve Cishek, a Cape Cod native, “would like” to sign with the Red Sox, hears Peter Gammons of the Athletic (Twitter link). Cishek is among the top relief arms remaining in a generally weak free agent class for late-game options. The 33-year-old submariner compiled a dazzling 2.55 ERA in 134.1 innings over the last two years with the Cubs. However, his age and a pedestrian combination of strikeouts (24.3%) and walks (10.3%) over that time figure to tamp down his market. The MLBTR staff forecast a modest two-year, $10MM deal for Cishek at the start of the offseason.
  13. The Dodgers have reportedly been interested in blockbuster moves like acquiring Lindor. The Red Sox are not even registering anything interesting in. The rumor mill.
  14. And you are an authority on the thinking of everyone in the fan base. Get over yourself.
  15. Failure to launch by the small market guy finding himself in a big market organization.
  16. So, the Plan is failing already?
  17. Another day of nothing from this jackass. If he isn't going to make any moves, they will not have a successful 2020, so what is the point of keeping all that payroll?
  18. Merry Christmas fellow Red Sox fanatics and all others who post on TalkSox.
  19. Bloomin Onion appears to have no plan to assemble a competitive roster for 2020.
  20. I predict that in 2020 Price will win 17 games and pitch to an ERA under 3.50 with around 200 k's.
  21. This sounds like a crazy situation. I wonder why she didn't just bring the bag back to their car.
  22. Just you opinion or have you seen a reported rumor?
  23. Bloom is a small market guy. He needs to acclimate faster than this.
  24. And they are losing ticket sales.
