I will take you Ben supporters seriously about him doing a good job when he gets another GM job. No one will trust him with a payroll. He is second only to Congress in wasting money. If he was half as good as some people here think, he’d be going into his 4th season as GM for some team.

All non impact nobodies. I wouldn’t be bragging about any of these people. I never said that DD was good at recruiting pitching prospects, but when he acquired pitchers, he got us Sale, Price and Kimbrel while Ben got us guys like Aaron Cook. He couldn’t recruit or acquire top pitching. He was just awful in that category.

When I kick DD in the shins, you don’t say anything, but the mere mention by me of Ben causes an immediate reaction by you. I find that amusing.

DD should have sold high on Benintendi and shipped him off with 8 c 10 glossies of his catch against the Astros and his Game 2 World Series catch.

That’s right. It is separate. When the draft classes are, discussion of the international draft isn’t part of the evaluation.

I was very critical of DD this year and Theo didn’t escape my criticism either. I find the immediate defense of and devotion to Ben in response to my mention of his name to be amusing. That is why I still bring up that loser. And yes, you are a loser if you finish in last place in 3 of 4 years and leave the organization devoid of top pitching at all levels of the organization. I am 60 and never seen that much last place hopeless baseball. And considering that we had one of the highest payrolls while he achieved such failure, admittedly it was a unique feat. Toronto looks like a fun team to follow.

It would be nice to have a real GM in place to act on this instead of this ridiculous GM by committee garbage.

Too soon to tell. Let’s revisit 2017 in 2023 to have an apples to apples comparison to 2013.

So far. And let’s not forget the biggest whiff of all Trey Ball. BTW, that list is very unimpressive— the best prospect is a PEF guy who has already had arm surgery. And I didn’t extol the talents of DD at drafting pitching. I am slamming Ben for knowing nothing about drafting pitching or acquiring mlb pitching talent. He was terrible at that.

In each of those last place years, I was very vocal about the glaring shortcomings of those teams and they finished in line with my expectations. It had nothing to do with liking or disliking Ben. I was also very vocal about the shortcomings of this years’ team and placed most of the blame on DD for not making the playoffs. It has nothing to do with like or dislike of the GM.

Y So we will sign you up for 3 last place finishes in 4 years? Count me out. Those were torturous years — lost summers. I don’t want to live through that again even if the GM is growing a crop of organic Ted Williams’s on the farm. I did enjoy 3 consecutive Division titles— something Red Sox fans had never experienced.

Ben knows nothin about pitching. Maybe he will draft Aaron Cook Jr.
