  1. I am sorry that I was right about this. The Twins series was so predictable. If the Rays can't come back against the Rangers and take the Series, the Yankees will cake walk past Texas to the World Series.
  2. Injuries played a significant role in his failures. It happens. Dice K is like an octagon. He is constantly turning corners, but he continues to travel in a circle.
  3. Pettitte after last night's game:
  4. Favre is going to chuck deep anyway. He will help him that he has a receiver who can get down field fast and jump.
  5. Goodness, I've been posting in the wrong thread. That's what happens when I drink before I go to dinner.
  6. Announcers just said that Pettitte can't find his release point and that he was looking at video between innings. The solution is easy for the release point. Take out the syringe when it is empty.
  7. I would love to see Pavano stick it to the Yankees.
  8. Maddon messed up by throwing James Big Homer Shields in game 2 instead of Garza. He's helping eliminate his team and clear the way for the Yanks to win the the ALCS. Thanks, Maddon!! You f***ing stupid Drew Carey-looking dope. It's amazing how often major league managers out-smart themselves in the post season.
  9. This is a great move by the Vikes. There's no disputing that. This gives Favre a bunch of weapons. As for the Pats, if they don't flip this third round pick in a package for Vincent Jackson, I don't know how you can reach any conclusion other than that they are in rebuilding mode.
  10. The greatest game for me was Carl Yastrzemski Day on the next to last day of the 1983 season. I had been a huge Yaz fan from !967 when I was in the second grade through high school, college and law school. I can't imagine today that someone would be "the man" on your team for such a long period of time. Yaz's 1967 was the major force in reviving baseball in Boston and that team gave birth to Red Sox Nation. I am puzzled when youngsters tell me that i witnessed years of Red Sox futility. Futility was what had been experienced during the 50's until 1966. After 1966, the Sox rarely had a losing season, and they were almost always competitive throughout Yaz's career. I bought my tickets from a scalper behind the Green Monster. As I was about to exchange the money for the tickets, I got grabbed around the neck from behind by someone who was shouting my last name. When I turned around, I saw three high school friends from Brooklyn, NY who were huge Yankee fans. I said to them, "Can't you guys leave him alone for even one day?" They told me that they thought Yaz was great and that they came to see him get honored. I was astounded. I thought that was a tremendous honor that the hated enemy had come to witness the day. The ceremony was great, but what I remember most about the ceremony was what Yaz did at the end of the ceremony. Yaz had always been an intensely private guy who did not seek out nor enjoy the public outside of Fenway. Totally out of character, he spontaneously chose to take a lap around the ball park shaking and slapping hands with the crowd. Even his most ardent fans never expected such a gesture acknowledging the fans. As far as I know, he was the first athlete to take such a lap around a ballpark. I watched Mantle's day and others who toured the field in an automobile or golf cart. Yaz's gesture made quite an impact, and others since them, including Cal Ripken, have taken similar laps. I was not at the following day's game, but I have heard and read that Yaz signed autographs for hours after the game until no one was left. He went out in a great way after a long great career. He had meant so much to the city, the franchise and the fans, and it was an unexpected surprise that the guy who had spent his career being intense and unemotional revealed to everyone how much the fans had touched him
  11. See my post following your post about Gardenshit. The only chance that I give the Twins is if Dopey Girardi tries to out-manage Gardencrap and he manages to out-smart himself. That is a real possibility. Torre just sat back and let gardenhire manage himself to defeat, but Girardi might actually react.
  12. In the 7th inning, I said to my brother that the Twins have to show that they can win. I told him that Gardenhire was a Jackass to bring in Jesse Crain, who absolutely sucks against the Yanks. I told him that he should've gone to Fuentes for 2 innings and then Capps even though the game was tied. This game was huge for the Twins, and he managed it like a regular season game. I'll say it again. Crain sucks against the Yanks. He threw away the game as usual. I hate Gardenhire. I don't care how good a baseball man he is. He should be replaced at playoff time. Every year, it is the same s***.
  13. I just took the same position as you, (i.e., that this would have the usual ending with the Yanks winning), and people got upset. I understand Emmz getting upset, because she is a Twins fan. She should know that I am sincere in hoping for the destruction of the Yankees. If she doesn't believe me, she is welcome to come to my home for the holidays to witness the s*** that I will have to take from relatives if the Skanks win. However, there was no reason for the cheap shot from the troll. Sorry, but there was no reason for it. It's his second cheap shot at me in two days. I PM'ed him after the first one, but he took another one today. If he wants to keep coming back under different identity and not continue to get banned, he should eat some humble pie like Jacko did.
  14. But you are the most pathetic.
  15. Cop out? I have never rooted for the Yanks. I don't care how much money I have on them. Don't be mean.
  16. It's more awesome than getting banned on a forum coming back under another identity posting pictures of yourself, busting yourself and getting banned again, moving and coming back under another identity with a different IP address. Way more awesome than that... Dutchy/Imperial.
