  1. Replacing VMart and Beltre with Werth and Dunn is a step down IMO. I am hoping that the FO wants to improve upon the 2010 team.
  2. Is Crisp a free agent. If so, this move probably means that he will not be returning to the A's.
  3. I'd rather they overpay for javy Vazquez. The Yankees overpaying for Cliff Lee brings me no joy, none, zero, zip, nada.
  4. I am going to a funeral wake now. Catch you later. I'll bet the stiff likes my lineup.
  5. I'll still pick Manny to send to bat instead of Dunn. Maybe I'll chose Dunn after manny is dead for a year and decomposed. My lineup also had VMart vs. Olivo/Buck and Crawford vs. Werth. I was just asking if it would be a fun lineup. It would be more fun than any lineup with Olivo. Jeesuz! I get it. Draw a line in the sand whenever a700 posts. You are no fun.:thumbdown
  6. Manny and Adam Dunn in the same sentence. Your credibility is going in the crapper. Plus my lineup had VMart vs. Olivo/Buck and Crawford vs. Werth. I was just asking if it would be a fun lineup. It would be more fun than any lineup with Olivo. Jeesuz! I get it. Draw a line in the sand whenever a700 posts.
  7. Accepting it and moving on is one thing. Being happy about it is another thing. People on death row eventually accept their fate, but I doubt any of them will be happy if the prison power goes out and the electric bill goes through the roof as a result of them getting fried.
  8. I was asking about their offense, not their D. It will never happen because the FO would never touch Manny. But you can't bring yourself to admit it. Lol.! And Adam Dunn is Keith Hernandez and Don Mattingly rolled into one. Well, he does weigh more than their combined weight. Lol!
  9. Your lineup blows compared to mine and it is a wash defensively. Does it really bother you so much when the old dude thinks outside of the box and comes up with an interesting idea. I can't believe that you can't even admit that it would be a fun lineup. Lol! A700 for GM!
  10. Do you think Dunn would be so much better in the field? Plus, he may be bigger and fatter than Ortiz. Check out the gut on the guy. Lol!
  11. It would never happen, but even with an old Manny and Ortiz that would be some fun lineup. Crawford Pedroia Youkilis Ortiz Manny VMart Drew Scutaro Ellsbury I think they would score some runs, and they would have speed too. Lol!
  12. Carl Crawford in LF, Manny at DH 130 games, Ortiz at 1B for 120 games DH for 30 games, VMart catcher and 1B 40 games, and Youk at 3rd.
  13. That wouldn't give me any joy. Cliff Lee in the Red Sox rotation would make me happy. A Yankee rotatio with Lee and Sabathia for the next 4 seasons is not going to float my boat regardless of how much they spend.
  14. I don't want Werth. Crawford is the prize.
  15. I am with you on this. I am not buying any of the planted stories about his times on his throws to second base while he was at Pawtucket. He's a train wreck behind the plate, and he hasn't proved anything at the ML level with the bat. I hope it is just negotiating posturing.
  16. That would be a great addition.
  17. There is a reason why Boras likes to get the Sox and the Yanks bidding on a player. Not every player wants to play for the Yanks or the Sox, but they have tremendous resources and they will bid against each other driving up the players price, even if he signs elsewhere. If the yanks and Sox don't get involved in the bidding, the price will not go as high. They will not have trouble getting jobs, but the price would be higher if he can get the Sox and Yanks in on the deal.
  18. When Morgan started out as a color guy, he was excellent. He had lots of insights and he still knew the players very well. As years past, he lost the connection with the players and stopped doing his homework. He basically would interview a few people before the game to try to get a feel for what was going on, and his lack of preparation was evident. I do like Miller. He's a good listen.
  19. I wonder why the Sox chose to meet with Werth first. Also, why was the meeting so public? Is it a negotiating ploy to get Crawford to take interest. There are only a few teams around that can meet Crawford's price. If the Sox take themselves out of the bidding by signing Werth, and the Yankees are not interested and the Mets can't move Beltran first, there aren't too many teams where he can land. If he can't get around 3 big market teams to bid against each other, it could hurt him.
