  1. I don't understand this fear of injury with playing the OF. I could understand the fear of giving up runs, but is the OF paved with nails or something?:dunno:
  2. Okay with it? I am trying to call Theo to plead for it.
  3. Inn the first inning, the idiot Pirate pitcher pitched to Youkilis with an open base. Youk grounded out, but we got a run. Last inning, the pitcher walked Youk with 2 outs to load the bases to pitch to the .108 hitting McDonald. He got out of the jam. That's using your noggin. The Pirstes start the next inning with a beautifully executed bunt single. We don't bother teaching those fundamentals on the Red Sox. The next guy hits a bloop single to RF, but our idiot RF Cameron dives for an uncatchable ball turning it into a double to start the inning of with 2nd and 3rd and no one out. Lester walks the opposing pitcher to load the bases. That's a very sound fundamental move. The next guy gets an infield single scoring the tying run. A double play scores he go ahead run. The Red Sox are a talented team that can bludgeon teams to death and overwhelm lesser talented teams, but whaen we send out a weak lineup like tonight, it is very difficult for them, because they are a very poor fundamentally, and our manager sucks in game situations. That pisses me off, because fundamentals are just a matter of coaching.
  4. And if we win tonight, it only encourage further stupidity by Tito. When does Crawford come off the DL?
  5. The Pirate pitcher only needs to get 1 of the top 2 guys out to shut us down tonight. If he can get Ellsbury or Pedroia out, he can essentially pitch around AGon and Youk. If I was managing the Pirates, I wouldn't let 3 or 4 see a strike. I go after the lames starting in the 5 hole ridiculous. If the Pirate pitcher gives AGon and Youk strikes, I would conclude that their manager is also an idiot. Baseball managers are a very stupid group of people, so we'll have to wait and see.
  6. Tito throws away too many games that his team should win. It's that simple.
  7. I was just joking when I posted this. Tito has alzheimers. It's official. Dementia is in an advance state.
  8. Montero is an over hyped DH and jacko wants to perpetuate the myth created by the Yankee FO so they can hopefully use him as a trading chip to get them a real player/pitcher. Screw you Jacko! The word is out on the mythical Montero. He's a DH. That's it. All the GM's should know that by now. If any of them trade for him, check that GM's bank acct, because he'll be taking a Yankee bribe.
  9. McDonald protecting Youk? I hope not!
  10. After yesterday's game, Kevin Millwood has pitched 28 innings for the PawSox with a 2.89 ERA and 24 k's. He' 3-0
  11. If Ortiz sits, our lineup will be putrid in the NL parks for the next 9 games. AGon doesn't need to be running into walls or diving for balls, so there shouldn't be a risk of injury. There's more a risk of injury at 1B of collisions etc. See Pujols.
  12. I had better buy their jerseys before they sell out. Lol!!!!
  13. Trade Iglesias to the Mets for Reyes before he is exposed and goes on the junk heap with so many other prospects that went bust.
  14. Cameron and McDonald are two horrible bench players. They bring nothing to the table. Batting .108 McDonald behind Ortiz is preposterous. Get Beltran now. Don't wait!
  15. A pitcher with a 7.36 ERA on June 23rd sucks. There's no way to analyze it that would allow you to come to a different conclusion. He needs to pitch like an All Star the rest of the way just avoid having an embarrassing season. He has zero shot of turning this around to be a respectable season. It's like he has assumed Dice K's role as the rotation flop. He makes me yearn for the days of Vaughn Eshelman.
  16. I heard that he was a terrible whiffle ball player.
  17. I wasn't being critical. I was just surprised that Beniquez came to mind. There are not too many people here who remember him. The 1975 Red Sox had some group of OFers-- Rice, Lynn, Evans, Yaz, Carbo, Miller, and Beniquez. The worst was Rice, and he was pretty good. The rest were excellent. The best might have been Rick Miller. Those seven guys were on the roster at the same time. Can you imagine that. Yaz played mainly first base, but he played some OF that year. Today, teams never carry a 6th OFer and sometimes don't carry a 5th OFer.
  18. Yaz won 7 Gold Gloves.
  19. I can't believe that this sack of s*** Gordon continues to get people out.
  20. So, you haven't heard any reports of injury and the shoulder is okay?
  21. Juan Beniquez? I thought you might have mentioned a more accomplished OFer like Yaz.
  22. I never said that there was evidence of a hip injury. The article is a report that scouts are saying that ARod is not at full speed. That would mean that he is either loafing or he is physically injured. They are clearly speculating that it might be his hip. I am asking you Yankee experts who are plugged in whether you have heard any such reports, so it is funny that you are asking me for evidence.
