  1. Today's update in the Globe about Lowrie is that he will definitely not be back before the All Star Break and possibly well after the break. He has nerve damage in his shoulder- not a fast healing injury. I had been hoping that Lowrie would stay healthy this year, prove himself to be reliable and win the starting job during the season. He won the starting job early on, but he continues to be frail and unreliable. He's not the answer at SS, neither is Scutaro who was just a stop gap. Iglesias is no guarantee, and Sutton is certainly not the answer. The answer is Jose Reyes. Theo needs to get the answer.
  2. Before the game the coaches identified a flaw in his delivery. The flaw is that he releases the ball. Lol!
  3. Great teams don't have many extended losing streaks. We are in the midst of our double dip and we are still in the first half.
  4. He has helped the Yankees, played solid D, run the bases well, and stabilized a marginally talented staff enough that they are in first place.
  5. The offense sucks. For all the criticism leveled at Crawford on these boards, we miss him in the lineup. Having him in the 5th (in NL games) or 6th slots is big deal. We have two huge OF holes without him and a hole at SS. The whole lineup sucks right now. BTW: After all that agonizing about putting Agon in RF, it was no big deal.
  6. Like I have been saying all along, we'd be happy if Salty puts up an off year for Martin.
  7. Russell Martin with a 3 run HR #10 for a 4-1 lead. He sucks.
  8. They will hit a skid sooner or later.
  9. Maybe Lackey could be a RH outfielder. We need one.
  10. Maybe they should see how he plays in RF during the regular season rather than put him out there for the first time in the playoffs with everything on the line.
  11. 1-0 already. It is not easy to maintain a 7 earned run average.
  12. More base runners against Lackey.
  13. And if they hadn't already lost 3 of 4 on this road trip and 5 of the last 7 games, I am sure that he would not be in RF tonight.
  14. Nava is a bush leaguer, not a major leaguer. He was very fortunate to get to the majors for a brief but very memorable moment.
  15. Yea! 5 hitters tonight!!!
  16. It really is impossible to defend lackey's performance to this point in the season- nearly the half way point. His first half has been so bad that it is difficult to be optimistic about his second half.
  17. Beckett shouldn't even have been out there for the bottom of the 6th inning. Down 3-0 to Lee in the NL park, Beckett should have been lifted for a PH in the 6th. Tito can't manage in the AL. The NL is way beyond his capabilities. 5-0 now. The game is out of reach. If he PH in the 6th, maybe we get a little rally.
  18. The Yankee have not hit a rough patch yet this season. It will come. Let's see how they handle it.
