  1. So far we have come up with lots of failures that are not disputed, the Drew case which probably falls in the under-perform category, but not a bust, and a couple of yet to be determineds (Jenks and Crawford). I've only seen 1 big money free agent success story- Beltre. It seems like a bad track record.
  2. Not a bust, but an under performer. Couldn't resist an anti-Obama line.
  3. and Obama can probably find some statistic that shows that the economy is doing great, but I choose to believe my own eyes.
  4. If they lose and the offense does poorly, we should hire a foot massage therapist for Big Papi.
  5. I'm hoping Lavarnway hits a couple of HRs tonight. I have him in the minor leagues of one of my Fantasy leagues. Catching talent is thin.
  6. Yikes!! What a line up!
  7. Jenks has another year yet to go. He could redeem himself.
  8. I wouldn't put this signing on my resume if I were Theo.
  9. Since when has banning ever stopped anyone.
  10. Don't tell Dipre. He'll come back for blood.
  11. I stated Beltre earlier. I don't count Ortiz as a FA signing. He got released by the Twins and was picked up for the waiver price of $50 k. If it wasn't clear before, when i made the thread I was talking about big money FA signings, not situations where players are just cut loose.
  12. Who would have figured that at this stage of their careers that Todd Helton would be outperforming Youk.
  13. Duke had some busts, most notably Steve Avery, but he did sign Manny and Damon.
  14. I guess Scutaro would go in the success category. He did what was expected of him when he signed.
  15. Offerman was Duquette's signing.
  16. Still waiting for some success stories. One success story would be Adrian Beltre, but that was just a 1 year deal.
  17. Bust-- John Smoltz
  18. Francuoer is no longer a waiver wire possibility. The Royals have signed him to a 2 year extension. http://hardballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/08/18/the-royals-sign-jeff-francoeur-to-a-two-year-extension/
  19. If he plays 100 games this season, which is a long shot, he'll have averaged 125 games/yr over the course of his Red Sox contract. What a horse!!!
  20. Theo has had an astonishing record of failures in the Free Agent Market. He has several colossal failures, some under performers and few if any successes. Let's name them here and debate them. I'll start off with a big bust: Edgar Renteria They had to eat about $24 million of his contract to get rid of him. That is a big time fail.
