  1. He might if Weiland pitched for them.
  2. If that happens, I'll be making tomorrow's GT and my mojo will run the table to the end of the season.
  3. You are going to need some strong mojo to overcome tonight's pitching matchup. If you can't pull them through tonight, I'll do tomorrow's GT. I haven't done one all season. I've been saving up and conserving my mojo for the big games.
  4. I think you are using the Red Sox to do double duty for you. You are looking to cover yourself for a Christmas present and an Anniversary gift. What's up with that?
  5. ^ I can vouch for his restaurant recommendations as far as Europe.
  6. I'm predicting a sell out crowd
  7. Why? Look at the idiot in your avatar.
  8. We need Hellickson to come down with a case of intestinal turmoil.
  9. How do you know? There were no computers, but maybe she did it on paper.
  10. The numbers don't overwhelmingly support going with a lefty or a righty. I still don't like going with a kid with 2 major league starts under his belt to start the first game of the biggest series of the season. Miller doesn't have a load of experience either. The two options are really bad. There is no good choice. I'd probably still go with Miler, because when he is on he has demonstrated some ability to dominate. Bad options. Kevin Millwood would have been a much better option.
  11. What is Francona's explanation for going with Weiland tonight instead of Miller? I thought he'd want the lefty because the Rays have few lefties: Damon, Joyce, Kotchman, Brignac and Jaso. I have to say that this gives me flashbacks to 1978 when Zimmer started rookie call up Bobby Sprowl in the crucial Yankee series.
  12. Then they too would be misunderstanding what I had said.
  13. I didn't imply that you had used career data. I stated flat out that's what I thought you were using. It was my misunderstanding. It usually happens when I am posting on my blackberry on the train. When you clarified for me that you were using 2011 data, I still took issue with it for the reasons that i have already stated.
  14. No I didn't. Edit: But I wouldn't expect you to be able to understand that because you engage in the tactic that I "soap boxed" about more than most posters. If you had understood how ineffective it is, I assume that you would have stopped engaging in it. So, i am not surprised that you don't even understand the point that i made.
  15. Some posters tend to take the analysis by another poster and apply it to a different set of facts in another situation then conclude that the analsis is faulty, because the conclusions in that analysis didn't hold true in that other situation. It's a faulty way to argue and it proves nothing. I agree with you about Romero. He has been very good this season. The fact that the Sox have had success against him in past years doesn't translate to a higher probability of success this season. From year to year, the Red Sox line up has changed significantly, so it doesn't translate from year to year.
  16. Game management has never been Tito's strength. That's more like his nap time. He needs a stacked team where it doesn't matter what buttons he pushes during the game.
  17. Some new blood is needed. It is time for some changes. As an organization, the Yankees are deeper in talent at every level. Maybe I'm believing their hype, but Montero certainly looks like a prime time hitter, far better than Lavarnway. Their minor league pitching is much deeper than ours too. Let Theo take the Cubs job.
  18. A Rays sweep of the Sox this weekend is highly unlikely. The O's have taken the heat off the Sox big time by beating the Rays the last 2 days.
  19. f*** him.
