  1. He hasn't settled down. They got themselves out. Everything he is throwing is belt high. He's too old to bend his knees to get the ball down.
  2. If the ball was on a tee, and we could play an extra player in the field, we'd be better off.
  3. Another pitch high in the zone. He will utilize the 7 run rule tonight.
  4. What about our misery? He makes millions to serve up this crap. All of his pitches are up.
  5. He was toast last year. WTF were they thinking that he could rebound at age 44? Total stupidity. I don't care if he is only making $1 a day.
  6. So, how many runs will we have to score to win this game? And without Ortiz, can we score them?
  7. And Wake gives up the lead with a 3 run HR. Get this turd out of there. We can't give away this game.
  8. Lead off wall ball double off Wake.
  9. Lowrie batting clean up. Great!! Whew error and two runs!! We needed a break like that.!!
  10. You are making excuses.
  11. Unfortunately, when the Sox throw s*** like Smoltz, penney and miller among others, it never works out. I guess it is always luck. Remember Aaron Small and Shawn Chacon.
  12. I have to say that you are acting like a very poor loser. Tip your hat to them if they beat us. It's the right thing to do. No one predicted that the Yankees would be as good as the Sox if the Yanks had stayed healthy. They had early injuries and critical injuries and they stayed closeeven when the Sox were on a roll. The Sox ran out of steam and the Yanks finished the race on their feet. They deserve a lot of credit. GMs get paid to build rosters that can withstand injuries.
  13. To quote Branch Rickey, "Luck is the residue of design."
  14. If the Yanks beat us, we just have to tip our hats to them, because they did a better job of building a deep roster despite several injuries. These whiners give us all a bad name. Maybe the whiners live in the safety and seclusion of New England. I live in NY and I am tired of taking crap because so many of you are poor whining losers. The first excuse is "Oooooohh but we had so many injuries. What could we do?" Once it is pointed out that the Yankess had a bunch of injuries, probably more than the Sox, they say "Yeahhh, but they got lucky with Colon and Garcia. It's not fair. Colon cheats and he's fat." Please do you people hear yourselves. In the words of Don Corleone when he slaps a crying Johnny Fontaine: "Act like a man!" No, offense ladies.
  15. No, what he did wrong was that he built a team with no depth. We were very lucky that we suffered no major injuries in the first half-- Dice K was addition by subtraction. The Yankees suffered several injuries in the first half, but had the depth to endure. When our injuries happened, the lack of depth was obvious, and it might end up being fatal. Beltran's OPS with the Giants is .830 and in September it is 1.190. Neither of those numbers are sucking. Reddick's OPS since the end of July is .717.
  16. I think you have to give the Yankees credit for scouting these guys and checking them out physically. Now, you want to blame the good luck of your opponent. The whining is in full force.
  17. Dubront's injury problems started in spring training. Once his health became an issue, they should have looked elsewhere for depth. It is surprising the change from the rah rah rah confidence that they wouldn't collapse to the excuse mentality. If they win, there will be no need for excuses. I guess , a lot of you are not that confident anymore. The signs were all there. You had to be blind not to see them. At this point, the Sox can still hang on, but it is notgoing to be easy to stop this train from going off the cliff. When they go off the cliff, there are no excuses. Excuses are for whiny losers. I hate whiny losers. Lose like men. No offense ladies.
  18. Then why is Davis Ortiz panicking?
  19. There was zero depth built into the rotation--- zero. They didn't need a lot of depth here. If they miss the playoff, it willbe by one or 2 games. One good pitcher could have provided that. The Rays lost their# 2 Garza and their entire bullpen to Free Agency. The rebuilt and they have depth too. The Yankees had their # 2 implode and their #3 Hughes has been ineffective and/or unavailable all season. They lost Soriano foran extended period. Feliciano never pitched a game and Joba was lost for the season, so again, stop making excuses Mrs. Epstein. Your son gets a D on his report card.
  20. The only depth built into the pitching from the beginning was Wakefield, and that was a very poor decision. You don't have to build a 10 man staff, but you need to have some depth. If we had on more pitcher to put into the rotation who could have won one or two of these games they wouldn't be in such desperate shape. You don't need to rebuild a whole staff. You just need 1 or 2 reliable guys who can put up quality starts. Stop making excuses for them. Our injuries have not been worse than the challenges faced by the Yankees or the Rays.
  21. It's not 20/20 from me. I haven't like our pitching depth from the beginning of the year, and I have been critical of the Trading Deadline moves.
