I think Ortiz might go unless he would take a contract that would be a good value. He has not been the problem at all this year. We have sucked when he has been out of the lineup. He has had 2 very good years in a row. This was not a rebound year.
I think igf you start loading up the roster with Lavarnway (no position), Kalish and who is etc.? There's not much major league ready talent in the organization, so we can't really go young within the organization.

Beckett
Lester
Buchholz
Pedroia
AGon
Ellsbury
Papelbon
Bard
Possibly Ortiz for 1 year
I would keep Papelbon, because he is still elite as a closer, and I like him and Bard at the end of games. When Papelbon leaves, we will all be lamenting his absence. He has really spoiled us. He's had one off year, and even that wasn't terrible.
Everyone else can go-- including the manager, coaches and GM.
