  1. The Lackey clubhouse incident was very strange. When they cut back to the NESN studio, TC and Rice looked like deers caught in the headlights. They didn't know what to say.
  2. All season long his swing has lacked authority. He had been flailing at the ball all season due to the shoulder. Did he look like he was throwing the bat at the ball or did he drive through it?
  3. He certainly should be right up there in the voting. I am surprised that no lead off hitter in history had 100 RBI in a season.
  4. How did Drew look tonight?
  5. I don't know what makes him think it was a press member. He doesn't claim to know who it is.
  6. He says that someone in the press texted him a half an hour before the game about something personal, and he said it was over the line. He's really pissed.
  7. Someone better go get Lackey out of there before he hits someone.
  8. What is Lackey whining about?
  9. Better to have love and lost-- that malarkey? I love them too... so back off. I loved them for decades before you. I gave them the best years of my life.
  10. It hurts less if you have no expectations. I was trying to spare you the pain you were putting yourself through. You are very ungrateful.
  11. They took forever, but tonight they finally showed some resiliency. They gutted this out and fought for it. They wanted it. I haven't seen this in a long long while.
  12. In the year the Giants beat the Pats in the Super Bowl, before the NFC game against the Packers, I asked this same friend how he felt about the game. He said that only one thing worried him-- that the game would come down to a late field goal attempt or an OT attempt, because he had no confidence in the kicker. He missed one in regulation and one in OT is my recollection. My friend looked at me each time and said "what did I tell you?" Today, we did not talk baseball, because I didn't want to. The funny thing is that the only Yankee he mentioned all day was Proctor. He brought him up out of the blue and was laughing about him and how bad he sucks. When I saw him coming in, I knew good things would happen. My phone will ring at 9 am sharp and he will say: "What did I tell you?" I swear that sometimes he gives me the creeps.
  13. Yes!!!! The white flag!!! Proctor does suck!! My friend is never wrong about this stuff.
  14. I thought Salty might have gotten that one.
  15. Is Scott Proctor coming in? I heard from my friends today that he has been awful.
  16. I wish he could take some ABs for us tonight.
  17. If JD wins the game for the Sox tonight, we have to track down Dipre and temporarily lift his ban so he can tell us why we are such ungrateful fans.
  18. Football Sunday. Out with friends. Trying not to witness this.
  19. No, I don't believe in predestination, but I do believe in odds, and they are heavily stacked against us in this extra inning game in Yankee Stadium. Keep stressing if you must.
  20. I bring the grim reality.
  21. Stop stressing. This is inevitable. It doesn't matter what Tito does at this point.
  22. This is what a team choke looks like. They are very rare, but i watched the Mets do it in 2007 and 2008. This is what it looks like. Lots of s***** players are on the field who are completely futile, the reliable stars try doing do much to get the team to win and before you know it, they can't do anything right. Then the manager tries hunches that don't work and the whole thing snowballs. When a team starts spiraling like this, they need a top stud that can hurl a complete game shutout (like a Sandy Koufax), but they don't make those guys anymore. I went out and watched football all day... no baseball. I knew this was going to happen. I could see this unfolding 3 weeks ago and everyone said I was nuts. As recent as yesterday my son disagreed with me. I would not be surprised if we don't win another game this season if we lose tonight. Oh, well anything can happen I guess. Nah not really, not when you are forced to wheel out Wakefield in a must win game. This is the best game the Sox have played in 2 weeks and it will probably be a devastating loss. Sad. Very sad.
