He is ace-capable, but he reverted to his old habits of working slowly. nibbling and throwing too many pitches. When he picked up the tempo in 2008, he turned a corner and his career took off.

I never believe the after the fact cover stories on why they didn't get a player. It's just CYA propaganda. When the unnamed Sox official comes forward and Seattle confirms the information, I'll believe it. Until that happens, I'll not be duped by them. This is standard operating procedure for the Red Sox FO.

Now that the Yankees have been eliminated, I can devote most of my attention to Football. I really don't care who wins from here on out. I do hate Philly fans almost as much as Yankee fans, and they might even be the biggest ******* fans in sports. It would be fun to see them get eliminated.

They always have a big payroll, but because they made no major off season acquisition, missed out on Cliff Lee and we made 2 huge acquisitions, most Yankee expected the Sox to finish ahead of them. In that regard, the 2011 Yankees surpassed expectations and certainly with the emergence of Nova and the contributions of Colon and Garcia and the All Star year from Robertson, they over achieved. If Cashman's contract is up, I would love for the Sox to poach him.

I would not have replaced Scherzer after the infield hit to bring in Benoit who Granderson had taken deep.
