He's such a prima dona that he would probably oppose being used as a reliever.

Hideki Irabu used to walk around with magnets on various parts of his body between starts for the Yankees under the theory that it promoted healing. It didn't help him much. The body will heal from surgery on it's own timetable. When a doctor to tells you that something will heal in X time, they know what they are talking about.

I thought that the money spent during the season didn't count towards the cap.

I haven't watched tennis once all the larger than life personalities retired. In recent years, only the Williams sisters have brought any sort of personality to the sport.

We jumped on him and pounded him before he even could make a good troll attempt. -
I still want a pitcher whether we are over or under the cap, but I can't see the big motivation to salary dump your starting SS if you are still going to be over the cap.

I think that we'd have to eat at least 5 of the $6 million we owe him.

I read something today that the Sox still might look to trim more payroll. Maybe there is another salary dump coming.

He might have screwed himself, because the arbitrator would have to come in at $15 million for Ortiz figure of $16.5 to be closer, but that being said, the arbitration process does produce some anomalous results. I still wouldn't be shocked if he won.

We are all hoping this is the case, but there is no indication that anything like this will happen. The Marlins are trying to build at this point, not dismantle. I realize that you were just using the Marlins as an example, but we can rule them out.
