The Royals and Padres and others don't have fans because they think their team is going to the playoffs. They just like baseball, and they root for their guys even if the team stinks. -
I love baseball. I have seen worse Red Sox teams, but we didn't get better since last season. It's just absurd to think we did.

I ask you fans, which was the real Red Sox? The team that started slow and ended with a thud, or the team that had the best record from May to August. What are the chances of another slow start and another September collapse? This is what I was hearing in the off season as we let our closer go and added nothing to the team. What are the odds?

We have 4 hits. They have 4 HRs. I love our pitching. Who has a better big three than us? What is our ERA. Oh, that's irrelevant. We have plenty of starting pitching. We won't even need a bullpen. Oh, that's right. We don't have one. But I love our bullpen too.

Salty is batting .074 at the moment. He needs to go 5 for 5, to climb over the Mendoza line.

What I don't get is how a guy who doesn't strike out or walk a lot of guys has pitch count problems.

The best guys go at the top. You don't put some bush leaguer in the top, because he has been hot for a week. The best guys go at the top. You want them batting in the same inning and you want them to get the most ABs. That's how you maximize run production.

Next inning our elite bats will be split up for the second time through the order unless Avile and Sweeney get on base. It's a stupid lineup. You want Pedroia, Youk, Agon and Ortiz coming up in the same inning. This stupid lineup splits them. It's not an effective way to maximize run production. It just is not.

He's a very useful platoon player. He's not a full time player.

Ortiz is just a great hitter. It would have been nice if he wasn't leading of the inning, but Bobby V played the extend the lineup by putting lesser hitters at the top game.

Over 40 pitches and stil in the 2nd inning. I like our pitching.
