    They should have sent him down a couple of days ago if they weren't going to play him. After the weekend series, they play 6 straight games in NL ballparks. He will be the odd man out of that rotation, because AGon needs to go to the OF so Ortiz can play first base. Youk's will be playing 3rd. WMB should be getting ABs in Pawtucket and returning immediately after the interleague crap is over.

    So now the OFers are Pods, Byrd, Nava, Sweeney and DMac. What a bucket of piss! Why do we need 5 OFers? When Agon is out there, 3 of them will be on the bench. I don't get it.

    If a player still has options on a player, they can send him back and forth to the minor leagues without having to pass him through waivers and risking that he is claimed. Players who have been in the majors for a while like Bard don't usually have options remaining so the team would have to put him through waivers first.

    I am surprised that he had options left. I had been reading that he had no options. It will be interesting to see the corresponding move.

    You might be right about this. His long storied career has started out as a horror story. I think he might get one more start if they can make a significant adjustment in his side session. Otherwise, it's back to the pen. I don't think they will phantom DL him. If they bring up Germano or Dice K, they will have to cut someone. For those who insist that hje will be DL'd so no one will get cut, Bard will be back off the DL by the beginning of July. At that point someone has to get released. I am not sure who that should be. Apparently, no else does either.

    Dick says that he doesn't listen to me because I love bustin balls and playing victim. I have that jackass on ignore, so I don't know what he says unless someone quotes him, but he constantly takes shots at me. What a major jackass!

    Some people find it easier to attack the poster rather than the post. It's very unnecessary. As you say, this is a place to float ideas and vent. I don't know why that upsets some people.

    It's remarks like this that account for the low opinion that I have of baseball executives.

    He has no options left. He can't be sent down. A DL stint means that he will be useless to the team for about a month taking into account the DL and the rehab. If they can't phony up an injury or they don't want to do that, which pitcher would you send down/release to bring up Germano?

    Who is we? I haven't read anything where the team is considering this. If he is DL'd for 15 days and then does a rehab stint to regain his effectiveness, they could be without his services for almost a month. I don't think that is the best thing for the team. I don't think the team has any options left on him to send him to the minors. He would never pass through waivers. If they don't DL him, because he has no injury and can't option him, who would you send down to bring up Germano?

    I'll ask you the same thing that I asked MVP. If you bring up a guy from the farm to take Bard's starts, which pitcher do you send down to the minors or cut?
