  1. I agree. Maybe a healthy Bailey could have made up the difference, but the fact is that the hole at the closer position has gone unfilled.
  2. You lecture me so often about small sample sizes. I remember 6 years of feeling pretty good about having Paps on the mound in the 9th inning. Yes, i was very nervous at times, but I can't think of a single time that I wished the ball was in the hands of another Red Sox pitcher. I never had that "no lead is safe" feeling that I have regularly this season. You remember multiple losses in September? I remember Papelbon blowing 2 games. He was hardly the problem in September as our starters made our relievers pretty irrelevant in September. They had a league worst 7.08 ERA in September-- a full run worse than the next worst team.
  3. Well, your response was misplaced, because i wasn't arguing about retaining papelbon. I did want to retain him, but they didn't. That argument is over and done. I was just noting that his leaving has had a negative effect on the teams record. You have made only a few posts. Don't start off being a punk.
  4. Who cares. No one is discussing his contract.
  5. I almost swallowed my tongue on that swing. Thank goodness.
  6. Same horseshit as the 1st half.
  7. Throw strikes damn it!
  8. Late inning pen putting guys on base again.
  9. Ciriaco can field. Great play!!!
  10. Nava is a switch hitter so he can take some righty ABs. I'd move Sweeney and bring up Pods. Edit: And get rid of Lillibitch.
  11. Good Fenway swing. If I played him against righties, it would be at Fenway.
  12. Agreed. He's seems to be optimal in a modified sort of platoon situation where he gets about 350-400 ABs.
  13. Nava fighting against the DFA.
  14. We are waiting. My fearless prediction was that he would hit 35.
  15. When Agon starts popping balls out of the park, I will be convinced that he has figured it out and is not injured.
  16. It's great to get our guys back, but what difference will it make if our pitchers keep spotting the other teams 3 and 4 runs in the first inning of every game.
  17. The umps suck for everybody. Beckett just sucks for us. That's the difference.
  18. More like stupid ass Beckett.
  19. If he could use that glove for something other than covering his vile mouth, we would have a DP and almost be out of this inning.
