  1. Because he is an embarrassment.
  2. This guy really stinks. My goodness. He can't compete in a big time division. His ERA is at 7 where his tandem partner has been most of the year --Melancon.
  3. How about a closer for closer.
  4. When he blows a save, it isn't even a battle. He just gets over-matched.
  5. He came out of Wagner college in Staten Island. They never had much of a baseball program-- very small time. He is not a big time pitcher.
  6. Bailey sucks balls. Two batters and the score is tied. This guy is our closer next year. Good luck to us.
  7. Bailey starts off like he will hand the game back to the Yanks.
  8. Iglesias did not remind me of Ozzie Smith on that play in the last inning.
  9. That's very true. There are several factors which combine to make it a much less intimidating place for visiting teams than the old place. The large open air concourses disperse the noise. In the prior stadium, the sound was focused at the playing field. There are so many restaurants, bars and other distractions on every level of the stadium that people do not stay in their seats for the whole game. Lastly, The tickets are so high priced that they have essentially priced out the rowdy element.
  10. Even with the rainy weather, the quiet crowd is very strange.
  11. I would keep Iglesias to give him a shot, but I agree that we should take out the rest of the garbage.
  12. There is little choice but to go out and get pitching by trade or FA, because there is little depth of pitching talent in the organization.
  13. They will market your team very well. They'll create lots of interest and trhen bleed the fans dry for what will ultimately be an inferior on field product.
  14. There's no building going on with that roster. It's just a surrender.
  15. He's not an ace. Period. He may not even be a good #2. He's had 3 horrendous months during the season. Even if we cut him slack for the first two months because he was coming back from an injury, there is no excuse for his very mediocre to bad last month. Plus the Yankees have absolutely lit him up with 8 HRs in 7 innings. That is grossly bad and frankly it is completely unacceptable. As for Papelbon's successor, his ERA is right around 6 in 15 innings of work. Small sample size? 15 innings is about 1/3 of his usual work load. We need starting pitching and good bullpen arms.
  16. They certainly have a clean slate and plenty of resources to field a competitive team. The only questions are whether they have the will and capability to do so. If they field another 4th or last place team, they will have no excuses.
  17. The foundation for the 2004 team was built by Duquette without a doubt. As for 2007, LL had a large hand in that. After 2007, Theo and his band of fools were given more autonomy and they ran the franchise into the ground. Theo was a terrible talent evaluator and his entire staff sucked at talent evaluation. The last good talent evaluator that the 4ox had was the old guy Lajoie. I am glad that they recently hired a top talent evaluator. That is a big step in the right direction. I feel for the Cubs fans. The Cubs have 2 of the core 3 idiots running the show there. We have the other one. Hopefully, he will be a good little puppet at take direction from the adults.
  18. ^This would be a last place team, maybe one of the worst rosters in all of baseball.
  19. Operation rollover is almost complete. What will we end up with 93 losses? What a disgrace-- a demonstration of complete and utter incompetence and lack of any leadership. I always knew that the FO guys starting with Theo were not the geniuses that they were cracked up to be, but the depth of the FO organizational failure is beyond anything I could imagine. This season pretty much unveils the fact that baseball operations have been run by idiots for several years.

  21. It will be a crowning moment for a completely s*** season. Thank you john henry and your band of incompetent fools for putting together the worst Red Sox team that I have seen in my life. It seems fitting that baseball will have its first triple crown winner since Yaz won it breathing life into a dead franchise and setting it off on 45 years of mainly winning competitive baseball, until now. Welcome to early 1960's Red Sox baseball.
  22. He is an underdog type of guy making it easy to root for him. He has increased his power production this year. It would be funny if he gets busted for PEDs.
  23. That would make for an interesting poll-- first Sox player to get released when the season ends.
  24. Under 50 innings is looking like a winner.
  25. What? He just had 3 bad months. Take away the 3 bad months and he is there with Verlander and Felix Hernandez.
