  1. The X-rays of the hip must show quite a bit of damage and arthritis for the deal to end up at $5 million from $39 million. The Sox must have said we can't offer you the original deal. Your x-rays show that you have the hip of an 80 year old grandma. Napoli must have responded with I feel fine and he started dancing to Hey Sexy Lady, and they ended up at $5 million. Your guess is as good as mine as to what we see from him this season.
  2. Catching is tough enough. A bad hip would make things much worse.
  3. Yep, JH should have let Theo take Cherries and the whole FO to Chicago, and they should have made a fresh start. Cherries is Theo-lite or mini-Theo or Theo Jr. He will probably turn out to be part of the problem. I am hoping that he succeeds, but he is part of the same corporate indoctrination.
  4. That's right. The starting pitching is the key and it is much too thin. They need to add some quality depth. Also, the still need a lefty 1B/OF. I prefer Garrett Jones. The notion of Nava filling this role is a bad idea IMO.
  5. It will be interesting to see if Cherries/Farrell will talk about how Napoli will be used, I.e. whether they plan to catch him part time.
  6. It's a good deal if his hip holds out and he can do some catching. If his hip hinders him and he has to be DL'd, yes they would have limited their financial exposure, but they will not have a major league first baseman or a middle of the order hitter. If his hip holds up, we will be paying the market rate for him.
  7. They are paying by the foot and he is tall.
  8. Like I said you couldn't last. I'm a BayRidge boy. The Bensonhurst boys never had anything on us. They could lift a ton, but many couldn't spell it. What street did you "basically" live on in Bensonhurst?
  9. Let's hope that his hip is solid.
  10. You wouldn't last 10 minutes in Brooklyn, today or in any era. The stupid kids and nerds made better arguments than you. You are really a dolt.
  11. I think he was suggesting that I was exhorting you at 70 years of age to kidnap UN get on a plane to Brooklyn and engage in a racially motivated physical attack on another poster.:dunno:
  12. Touche. Searching for cartoon....
  13. I guess the next time I'll use cartoons or pictures to explain things to you.
  14. I honestly did my best to explain it to you 3 times. So, I figured that you just were messing with me. If you don't get what went on between me and MVP, no big deal. It was between he and I. If you like to read UN and MVP, fine. UN is the only poster that I have on ignore. MVP freely admits that the majority of his post are snark. I have no use for either of them except i do enjoy when MVP engages in pointless research of minutiae or irrelevancies in my posts. I have started my countdown to my ST trip. It's less than 50 days away.
  15. I called him a jackass after the post that I quoted twice for you. That was his initial post in the exchange. What aren't you getting? Re-read the thread in sequence. I don't know what else to say. Again, I did not say that he was being a racist. He injected the issue of racism by making a blanket accusation of racism aim toward New Yorkers. Enough of that. Pretty sure you are just trolling me at this point.
  16. I didn't say that his post was racist. I said that he injected racism into the discussion which he did as a lame blanket accusation against New Yorkers in the following post:
  17. Now that Morse is unavailable, napoli's agent will demand 3 years.
  18. You should really change your custom user title to "a700hitter's stalker" chump.
  19. This part injected the issue of racism:
  20. What an empty life that you must have. You research every one of my utterances. You are the internet version of an annoying work colleague who I can always side track by bringing up some obscure topic with an unanswered question. Within milliseconds, he is googling and searching on his laptop or phone. It's a source of endless amusement form me. Keep up the good work.
  21. Will this be blamed on the violent nature of the sport causing brain injuries and dementia?
  22. He's such a complete dumbass that he thought that I was suggesting that UN be taken to Brooklyn to be beat up "on the mean streets". How in the world did he make that leap? I was obviously referring to your Brooklyn roots and the ability of Brooklynites to dominate an argument involving personal insults. But his brain can't make those connections. How he made a leap to racism was really stupendously stupid. Who was going to be involved in a race based beat down... You? Me? Complete nonsense.
  23. That's not what I said. jeez, you can never get anything right.
  24. We can hope. Of course, Miggy was Miggy at age 20. Mauro's development is a few years delayed. With the signing of Napol as a RH first baseman/part time catcher, I would still like to see a left handed 1B/OF like Garrett Jones to round out the roster. Plus, if the Sox have any plans to use Napoli behind the plate, Salty has to go.
  25. This would drive a stake through the heart of the Mauro Gomez project.
