  1. who is the better fielder?
  2. All stats are hindsight. LOL! Otherwise, they would be projections.
  3. From the report: average speed, average arm, minimal projection remaining in his frame, lack a standout carrying tool, but will show average to better in all 5 tools. Speed is his weakest tool. When I saw him in Fort Myers in 2020, he struck me as very average in all aspects. Duran on the other hand has noticeably plus power and speed. I have been wrong before, but I am not going to invest in his rookie card.
  4. I have been consistently critical of his acquisition, since it was announced so there is no hindsight. His performance has confirmed my opinion. If he was OPSing .850, I would have been wrong about him. Do you know what hindsight means? LOL!
  5. He is one of the biggest dogs of all time.
  6. What do you expect from Downs? What do you think his ceiling is and why?
  7. Likely isn’t a measure.
  8. Apples to apples would be average salary of all 2B if you are using average OPS of all 2B, or maybe average salary of all 2B in FA.
  9. what is the average salary at 2B?
  10. But no hindsight was involved.
  11. ”Cherry picked in hindsight”? No, not at all. I haven’t liked the Kike deal from day 1.
  12. I never root for or against a GM. I criticize all of them without exception. They are on the same “overpaid knucklehead list” as managers.
  13. I stand corrected, but the 18 yr old hasn’t played professionally since age 16 and the 19 year old hasn’t played professionally since age 17, so they have almost no professional development. 5 years minimum before we see these guys contributing regularly in the MLB... if ever.
  14. When 16 and 17 yr olds are involved it can take minimum 6 years to make that determination. By that time Beni could be retired and everyone else will have forgotten this deal.
  15. slow-footed? Non-athletic? I haven’t heard those terms to describe him. Edit: it is not about missing him. It is about whether Bloom got a fair return for him. If the team doesn’t like a guy, they still look to maximize his value.
  16. And around the time that Beni retires for good maybe the 16 yr old or 17 yr old we got in return will be in the major leagues... or maybe not.
  17. if they signed Holt for $1 million instead of Kike, they would have had more than enough money for those 2 guys plus more and still kept Benintendi. Beni and Renfroe would have been a vet productive platoon.
  18. 2 walks. Can’t pitch a clean inning.
  19. I would be stoked if we got Kumar in the draft. I have followed his career.
  20. It has been a great job overall, but that shouldn’t preclude evaluating individual moves. Some have been great and some have been duds.
  21. i do like those guys but reserve judgment on Arroyo. As as far as minor leaguers, did he bring in Duran? I like him. Franchy is vomit inducing. Not crazy about Downs. I like catcher Wong’s bat.
  22. Oh well, I’ll just have to enjoy your absence from GTs.
  23. That’s a stupid thing to say to a Red Sox fan. I think Bloom’s best move was bringing in Tek to game plan with the pitchers. That is what I am attributing to the outperformance of the pitching staff. I am also thinking that Bloom knows more about pitching than Ben. His acquisition of position players like Marwin, Kike and Santana shouldn't get rave reviews.
  24. Maybe the team will go on an epic tear if you stay away from the forum entirely.
  25. It’s always great to beat the Yankees
