  1. Kenny Rosenthal silenced. Thank goodness. He is completely worthless.
  2. I feel better with Ross behind the plate.
  3. Like the umps said. This call usually happens at second base. IMO it doesn't happen at 3rd base, because most major league catchers can make a straight 90 foot throw. They may overthrow the fielder, but they can throw it on a straight line for 90 feet not causing entangling bodies.
  4. Jake Peavy has been a huge disappointment in post season. He put us in a hole early.
  5. After making that beautiful stop and throw, Pedroia must want to kick Salty in the nuts.
  6. A stat was mentioned during tonight's broadcast that i wasn't aware of. There were more SBs against Salty this season than against any other catcher. That speaks volumes.
  7. After the last game, I was hoping that Salty would be sitting. Hopefully, Farrell has seen enough of his act. He seems displeased with Salty's decision. As for Drew sitting for Middlebrooks, I don't see much upside unless he gets lucky and pops one out. His ABs tonight were pathetic.
  8. Losing on an error is the worst. If the other team beats you, you tip your cap. If you beat yourself, it hurts so much worse.
  9. It's hard to fault the umps for the call. It could have gone either way. It was going to be a very tough call or non-call. I don't think the umps screwed us. We screwed ourselves.
  10. This may be the best argument for a no call. If WMB had not been there, Craig would have taken longer to regain his balance. He was stumbling to get up. He used WMB to regain his balance and then tripped over him drawing the call. As I keep watching the replay, Salty had zero chance at getting the out at 3rd even if the throw was on the mark. Just an idiotic throw there. I give Farrell some of the blame, because Salty should have been sitting after 2 bad misplays in game 2.
  11. When Craig tripped, WMB had his legs flat at that point. As someone else said, the rule doesn't require intent. It's a s***** way for the game to end. It's always s***** when a game ends on an error.
  12. No, that notion is just ridiculous. Has anyone ever seen interference called on a sliding runner when a fielder dove into the runner to stop an errant throw? The answer is no. After the missed throw, Craig could have run around WMB and avoided contact, but apparently, he has no obligation to avoid the contact. And if he did run around WMB and not fall, he would have been safe.
  13. Salty is flapping his gums a lot. Maybe he should try saying these words. "The loss is on me. I shouldn't have thrown the ball and I made a terrible throw." Man up you whining wuss.
  14. It's a very close call. I could see it going either way based on the rule book. It's bad f***ing luck that the guy tripped, but if he didn't trip, he scores. It's all on Salty 95% and 5% on WMB not knocking the ball down.
  15. Who cares! We gave them the game.
  16. He needs to have his ass nailed to the bench. He is wearing the goats horns right now.
  17. There was no reason to make that throw with your lights out closer on the hill with 2 outs.
  18. The ump doesn't even have to make that call if Salty doesn't make the throw when he had no chance at getting the runner. Or if WMB kept the ball in the IF. Our guys made a terrible play. It's on the players. Good call or bad call. Our guys handed them the game.
  19. Salty handed them 2 games. Period.
  20. If Farrell was only going to give Workman 1 base runner in the 9th, why would he send Workman to bat when Naps big bat was sitting on the bench? That made no sense.
  21. Salty has handed them 2 games with his defense. He's useless with the bat. Why is he still starting? Ross can frame pitches and throw out runners.
  22. WMB was not obstructing the base path. I don't understand that. But what the hell is with Salty throwing the ball. What an idiot. And WMB couldn't knock the ball down? We have given away 2 games. It's very tough to prevail when you give away 2 games.
  23. What a job by Workman!! The Cards had to like that matchup in that situation. The kid came up huge. BTW, when we walk Beltran (a great post season player) we have to face Holiday. That is nice protection for Beltran. Our protection for Ortiz is not very high quality in these away games.
  24. Wong made a great stop and he got the throw to second quickly and a nice throw to handle. Kozma took a little long on the throw to first, but Nava must have really been busting it down the line. I thought it would be a DP.
