The bright sport is that they fought hard from being down by a lot of runs early in the game and almost came back. They scrapped like the 2013 team and didn't give up, but Buch dug too deep a hole for us. He has been a big diappointment thus far in 2014.

His Boston career has really been a disappointment thus far. If he can right himself this season and stay healty, they should consider trading him and getting good value.

He has packed on about 20 lbs since last season. Not a great idea for an aging guy with bad achilles.

Last year, he had a great first half of the season, but was useless after that and in the playoffs. Overall, he debuted in 2007 and he has had one strong full season for us -- 2010.

Buch pitched awful in the first half of 2012, but pitched much better in the second half of that year.

The best hitters hit at the top of the lineup. If he stays hot, let him be hot and provide prouction in the bottom half of the lineup. Like I said in my earlier post, at least farrell didn't bat Holt between Pedroia and Papi. That would be much worse.

I am very much opposed to the notion of lenthening the batting order by putting an inferior hitter in the top of the lineup. It is a pet peeve of mine. I am a firm believer that your best hitters should be clustered at the top of the lineup. At least Farrell didn't put Holt between Pedroia and Papi. I really don't like when managers do that.

Last night's game was the first time this season that the team demonstrated that 2013 comeback ability.

When Victorino comes back, I am hoping that Nava goes to AAA if he has an option left. Bradley brings more to the table at this point. He's an excellent fielder with a strong arm who can play all 3 OF positions, and he runs better than Nava. If Nava is out of options, Bradley will go down, and Nava will get another couple of weeks to turn around his hitting.

AJ was a stopgap signing. He's not a problem. He calls a good game and can toss out baserunners. His OBP is not that high but he does put the ball in play which is a change of pace from all of Salty's futile k's with men in scoring position.
