  2. Allen and Al have really stepped up now that they're getting the oppurtunity to start. Lets hope they can keep it up
  3. Having 2 lefties on the team should help against the yankees with all their lefties
  4. why not give him a shot in spring training. Who knows how good Okajima will be anyway.
  5. how about TO ATL: Crisp (plays left this year, then next year moves to CF) Hinske (good utility player for them) TO BOS: Gonzalez (gives us a closer) Nady (good RH bat off the bench who can play 1B/OF) TO PIT: Laroche (best player in the deal) Langerhans/Diaz (gives them some OF depth which they could use)
  6. Could it be Drew??
  7. Last time we traded with the Pirates... July 31, 2003: Jeff Suppan, Brandon Lyon and Anastacio Martinez traded by the Pittsburgh Pirates to the Boston Red Sox for Mike Gonzalez, Freddy Sanchez, and cash. deal worked out real well for the Sox
  8. i think its a good deal for both teams we have no room for Seibel, but he could be a decent bullpen option down the road for Anaheim
  9. top options as closer 1. Otsuka 2. Lidge/Wheeler 3. Cordero 4. Turnbow imagine having Matsuzaka go 7 innings, Okajima in the 8th and then Otsuka in the 9th
  10. he's probably a last resort option. What happened to him second half last year anyway? Injury or did he just completely implode?
  11. Im not a big Gonzalez fan, but he's better than other options out there
  12. great point Without Foulke that year, we had no shot at a WS
  13. what do you guys think the sox active 25 man roster will be at the end of spring training 1. Lugo 2. Youk 3. Ortiz 4. Manny 5. Drew 6. Willy Mo 7. Lowell 8. Varitek 9. Pedroia 10. Mirabelli 11. Cora 12. Hinske?? (maybe someone else) 13. Schilling 14. Beckett 15. Papelbon 16. Matsuzaka 17. Wakefield 18. Tavarez 19. Okajima 20. Timlin 21. Donnelly 22. Hansen 23. Delcarmen with 2 spots left over Crisp traded in some package for a closer makes 24 find a backup OF = 25
  14. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1bHorUmBr5U pretty funny
  15. Anyone know why Drew hasn't been officialy announced yet? Maybe tommorow? Wednesday--Lugo Thursday--Matsuzaka Friday--Drew
  16. http://boston.redsox.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/team/player.jsp?player_id=493137 nice to see him on the sox depth chart
  17. Matsuzaka is dropping the puck tonight at the bruins game
  18. Id give Wheeler a shot a closing. He's been one of the most lights out relievers that isnt a closer over the last 2 years. He just turned 29 and is also from Rhode Island. 2005 and 2006 stats 145 innings, 2.37 ERA, 12 HR, .89 GO/AO, 1.07 WHIP, 41 holds, .212 AVG, 12 saves in the end though, id take Lidge or Wheeler for Crisp
  19. true, but so far no teams have been real interested in them
  20. Crisp and a prospect for Dan Wheeler and Jason Lane Maybe they'd be interested in Clement......
  21. List of guys i wouldn't mind seeing get a chance in spring training: Tomas Perez Cliff Polite Eli Marrero Larry Bigbie Luis Matos Erubiel Durazo Carlos Pena Dimitri Young Chris Woodward Alexis Gomez Richard Hidalgo Jayson Werth J.C. Romero Ray King Matt Herges Dan Kolb Masumi Kuwata Aaron Rakers Chin-hiu Tsao Jamey Wright Jerome Williams Jorge Sosa Joel Pineiro Yusaku Iriki Zach Day
  22. Biggest steal of the offseason was this signing He's getting paid less a year than Miguel Batista
  23. Coco for Lidge straight up??? ABSOLUTELY
  24. Id say there's a very good chance of Crisp being dealt before the season, and could very well be for a closer
