    All that is left is to start seeing him hit some baseballs for hits and drive in some runs. He has looked like s*** warmed over this Spring and if there is someone in our lineup that is indispensable he is it. We need him to start hitting and very very soon.

    700 Hitter and Bellhorn, I don't want to start ringing the panic bell but another listless performance today by our guys. We're not hitting and Papi, our bell cow, looks like he is ready for a 2009 and 2010 hitting drought that lasts the better part of two months. We better start winning most of the rest of these damn ST games so at least we have a smidgen of momentum heading into the season. The O's, Spanks and Raymen are all having solid Springs and look like they mean business. Frankly put, right now we look like s***.

    BEL---You shouldn't have to tell this any of us but maybe send a missive to Cherington and Farrell to get this thing moving. A solid Lester and a finally healthy Buchholz are keys to our success the next few years. Get Jon signed.

    But the Dodgers won and that ruined the evening.....errr morning! I wish the D'Backs get their s*** together and split the series tonight.

    If Bryce Brentz shows what he showed in ST I cannot for the life of me see why the Red Sox would not bring the guy up as an extra outfielder to spell Vic when he needs a rest or when Vic is moved to CF to give Grady a breather-----assuming Sizemore wins the CF job.

    Our man in Fort Myers!!!!! Thanks for the update Ted. You were there; I wasn't and I hope when I see them in Boston in two weeks I will see the Red Sox that I got used to seeing in 2013.

    Right Pal......you made some good points on that score. We do need to start hitting a little better though and maybe with that new extension Papi will start his cannonading likity split. That point I am adamant on; we need Ortiz leading the charge at the plate. If he gets off to a slow start we are in deep water. You think the CF job has been won by Sizemore? I'm still on the fence with that, and as I wrote to Station 13, our division is a meat grinder and it would do us a world of good to get out of the gate with a bang.

    Right on Station, and we seemed to have our share of f***ups this Spring, especially those nobodies on the relief corps. I'm not pushing the panic button either, last year cured me of that. What I do believe though is that we have to build a little momentum entering the regular season and not get off to a bungled start as we have in the recent past. I had to laugh when some of the so-called "experts" claimed that there were now divisions at least as good as ours is----a total and complete crock of poo. Our AL East is a meat grinder and I think four teams can win it, and, yes, that includes the Yankees. Hell even Toronto could make a comeback. We have to be ready to get off to as good a start as we can manage.

    NAVA????????? Ted, I love your roster and lineup and agree with the latter 100%, but please get that Nava and options out of your mind. Daniel had a solid season for us last year, hitting over 300 and hitting a dozen homers in a semi-regular role. Somebody else goes down or gets cut, not Nava. You don't reward a solid effort with a demotion. He's earned the right to be on the team and in the lineup. My take is that if Sizemore wins the CF job then Jackie is sent down. If Bradley wins it then Grady is released and then pray to God some other team in the division doesn't sign him to come back and beat the living s*** out of us. It still could go either way but right now I say the former Indian All Star looks like the man for us in CF.

    Au contraire VA. You remember 2009 and 2011 when he had miserable Spring records. It carried over into the regular season....2-9 and 2-11. It could happen again. These games don't count in the standings, that's very true, but when you see the guys seemingly going at half speed it can be a cause for concern---as for instance when David Ross loafed into second base on a force play that he would have been safe on had he hustled and slid. He didn't so when Pedroia hit one up the alley with two down and the runners moving we got only two runs instead of three. We're not playing in some horseshit division either; the AL East is loaded this season and if we don't play tough competitive baseball we may not get to the Playoffs. Don't get too comfortable yet.

    You'd best be served by sitting up by the Coke sign that Red Sox Destinations uses for their customers. It's near enough to the more popular Monster seats and you get to see two to four games on each trip instead of one where you pay through the nose. The only problem is that damn wind that blows in from the bay makes you freeze your ass off and there is no respite to warm up since they don't sell hot chocolate in that section, just cold beer and colder soda.

    Just an educated guess Native Bostonian but to me it is possible that having Sizemore around might be spooking Jackie Bradley and he is now pressing. That is not a certainty but it is a possibility and right now you may be right that he isn't quite ready to step in. However, if he is sent down and Grady has a solid season we sign him up for three more years and Jackie could become history since he does not have the power and overall batting ability to play a corner position according to the so-called experts. Well, we'll see.

    Can't agree with you on this one Pal. No way the Red Sox break up that platoon of Gomes and Nava which worked so well last season. Jonny is a gamer and gives us power from the right side and we know he is tough in the clutch. Also, no way you bench a guy who hit 303 last season and showed decent power as well. No, IMHO, either Jackie or Grady wins CF and the other one is sent down or something. Of course, with Victorino and his back that could wind up as a parachute for Sizemore but from what we're seeing, at least up to now, Grady seems to be winning that job. That was what I was worried about concerning Drew.....that we might sign him and then it would complicate matters on the left side of our infield. When the kids are ready they need to play and with the new deal in CF that part of it might get thrown out the window. We'll see on that but I would advise Jackie to start hitting pretty quickly.

    True, nothing is a slam dunk but do you really expect Bogey to fail? We saw him last season in the ALCS and World Series under tremendous pressure to perform and he did a terrific job. Slam dunk? No, but pretty close to it IMHO. You had to be impressed by what you saw last fall too, right? The kid can play.

    Bogaerts is not going to be a bust of any kind. The guy is rated as the No. 2 prospect in all of baseball and while he is having some trouble this Spring it stands to reason that he will very soon start paying big dividends to us. Why would be want Drew when no one else wants him. You think he would settle for being a backup and sign for peanuts? Sorry RSR, that isn't going to happen. IMHO, he would be a potential roadblock if either X or WMB got off to a slow start and Farrell panicked. We have these fine young prospects and we need to start playing them and take our chances. What the hell is the good of talking how good our farm system is if we are going to s*** the bed and be scared to play them. We may already have lost one with Bradley who stands a good chance now of being replaced by Grady Sizemore. We should be fine with either Herrera or Holt for emergency duty. It worked last season. Well that's my opinion but I appreciate you take on things.

    The Red Sox penchant for bringing in veterans to "push" young players is having a deleterious effect on Jackie Bradley no matter what the Red Sox or Bradley says. I was not in favor of signing Grady Sizemore, not because he couldn't be a solid player for us because I always loved the guy when he played for the Guardians and hoped we could have traded for him instead of Coco Crisp. However, we see that Grady looks like he might be the story of the year, albeit if he can stay healthy. He sure looked like an All Star today and has had a good ST. The Red Sox are finding themselves in a dilemma now because if Sizemore wins the job Jackie most likely goes to Pawtucket "for more damn seasoning" which has become a euphemism in Red Sox lexicon for regression and eventual decay a la Anderson and Kalish. Now we had better not bring in anyone to "Push" Bogaerts. Let him play and leave him the hell alone.

    Patience is absolutely right Bellhorn, especially with Bogaerts but this is the crap that can happen when panic sets in and the team decides to bring in a veteran to "push" a youngster. We now see it in CF where Bradley might be close to losing his job to Gray Sizemore and being sent down to Pawtucket for "further seasoning" which seems for our players who go that way is a one way ticket to regression and trade bait a la Anderson, Kalish and now Lavarnway. What I had better not hear is that we need Drew now to "push" Bogaerts. X will be fine, just let him play and leave him the f*** alone.

    Just read that the Tigers aren't interested in him either. Looks like he really screwed himself up royally this year. I just hope Farrell is over his love for the guy.

    When your out of the room and Webster or Delarosa, those two Dodger duds we got in that momentous trade in 2012, are on the mound you will hear a lot of deep cracks of the bat on the ball and it bodes ill will for our side. I don't know what is keeping Cherington from punching their tickets to Pawtucket, Portland, Zanzibar or Timbuctu. They have no business wearing a Red Sox uniform unless it is to throw batting practice----something they both seem to do very well in games, something they most likely picked up from the Bums.

    He should get a get out of jail card for this first offense but if it happens one more time he needs his ticket punched right out of the organization. He sounds like an imbecile to me. The Red Sox need to watch this guy--------------------VERY CAREFULLY from here on in.

    I wonder where our friend User Name is? He and I went around and around over Delarosa all last season while he said his operation set him back and he would be ready to show what he could do very soon. Well wherever you are User, Delarosa still stinks, will always stink and he is going nowhere, and the crime is that the Red Sox continue to think this guy is something special just because the Dodgers said he was. He's not. He has the stuff, speed and arm but he is a human pin cushion. His ticket needs to be punched to Pawtucket.

    Well at least the rest of the team doesn't seem to be sleep walking any more. We've had some good games with some good pitching the past week or so and that is where we will sink or swim for the medal. I do believe, though, that we need to start hitting with a little more authority than we have but all in all it looks a lot better from where I'm sitting than where we were a week ago. Boston trip less than three weeks away. I can't wait.

    It looks like the team is starting to play a little better, but to he honest I think our hitting needs to come around a little better than it has. Hopefully in the next week or two we will see some of our key players like Papi Pedroia, Bogaerts and Nava-Gomes start to hit with a little more authority and for WMB to keep up what he has done up to now.
