RJ, I find this nostalgia for Drew a mite sickening. The guy made his bed and he now has to sleep in it. Besides, didn't Boras say he had two three year offers on the table? Where are those offers now? There aren't or weren't any. Besides, does everyone understand Stephen has NOT faced live pitching since October 30th of last year? He has had no ST, and remember when he came back from that concussion last Spring. It took him about a month to do any hitting at all......AND HE HAD A SPRING TRAINING OF SORTS IN 2013. No my friends, that dog will not hunt.

Picking the easier ones yeszir? Now tell me how many of the four games with the Yankees are we going to win this weekend?

Well you hit it on the head SFF----especially we do not lose on April 9. It was on this date 149 years ago that Robert E. Lee surrendered his traitorous brand of miscreants ending for all intents and purposes the American Civil War. Hell, how can a Southern State beat a Northern one on a day like this? They can't and they didn't. Nice win.....we needed to take this series.

We've all gotten hit with these injuries so early in the season---us, the Rays, the Yankees and other teams not in our division. I know injuries are a part of the game but this is getting out of hand. I can't recall a bigger epidemic of maladies so early in the season......and we need Victorino and Middlebrooks as soon as can be managed.

Station, it looks to me that others are doing a good enough job of hammering our team so I will just sit this one out. Actually two reasons for this. One, I was there the past weekend and saw the Red Sox look like a bunch of rummies. There was no relation to the team I saw in the same ballpark last October. Whether it was a hangover from 2013, a lack of urgency during a very mediocre ST, or the fact that we may have played over their heads last season, the fact is we didn't look like a championship team against Milwaukee. Secondly, I gained even a deeper love for our team and have crammed every nick-nack of the Red Sox into my Bosox room. I think my patience will have to be tested a lot more than it has before I snap. I will say one thing I better see happen is for Cherington to get busy and get Lester signed to an extension. Now let see if I can practice what I am saying.

I caught that mvp.....You might tell some of the others to pipe down. Some of our friends are making me look like a wuss when it comes to attacking our bad play.

Think you want to modify that prediction RSFFL? Hey, I like your upbeat outlook. Our team looks a little out of sorts right now but the season just begun. However, I have to be honest. What I saw at Fenway this past weekend resembled nothing of the team I saw last October in the same ballpark. They need to start putting some kind of a streak together----the winning kind.

SoxSport, I flew to Boston for the three game Home Opening Series and if what I saw is a precursor for the 2014 season we might be in deep s***. We looked flat as a board on Friday---and, yes, that might have been due to all the hoopla of the ceremony which was sensational. Unfortunately, the game was a dud. Sunday we looked like s*** warmed over....not fire, no sense of urgency and a half ass effort all around. Lots of two out hits.....unfortunately they all came with two outs. We're 3-5 so far so there is plenty of time to right the ship, but some of us did think they was this relaxed atmosphere in ST and it might be good to ask if maybe we weren't fully ready when the season started. We can rectify this unless one or two teams in our division go wild with a great run. Then we could be in deep s***. We need to go on a run ourselves----I think we miss Victorino and his spirit and drive more than we know and we will miss Middlebrooks more than we know too. The rest of the group has to get it together while there is still a lot of time--especially Papi and those two boobs who got their asses reamed today and on Saturday.

Well Jacko, we have our own problems in my camp as well. Buchholz pitched like s*** on Saturday and Doubrant pitched like s*** tonight. We on this board who root for the Red Sox can only hope of beg the Gods of Fate that they reverse course before the season starts to slip away----and we need Victorino and Middlebrooks back and we're not getting them for awhile. So many damn injuries already hitting most of the ball clubs. Too much weight lifting creating tight wiry muscles when flexible elongated ones are what's needed in our sport. You're a doctor....how come so many medical people can't see that...like our ******* Red Sox medical staff.

I will be flying to Boston tomorrow for the Home Opening Series. Please guys and gals, keep the good thoughts coming so it is a real hoot this weekend. First things first though....win the rubber game tomorrow.

Interesting? I'd call it strange Pal. But I will shut my trap if he goes out tomorrow and deals the Orioles another loss and shuts Showalter's trap as well.

Showalter seems to have that effect on a lot of us Ted. I got real sick of seeing him whoop it up after Monday's game and I had a whole extra day to do a slow burn over it. Let's win that rubber game tomorrow and shut him up for the rest of the week.

We always seem to have some trouble when we face Buehrle ourselves Bell. I hope next time we do we crush him.

Good point my friend. AJ needs to his at the bottom of the lineup. He just has no plate discipline and we have to depend on his getting his pitch for him to whale on it---and it tough situations the pitchers aren't going to give him that and he will swing at those off the wall pitches anyway.

Glad they went back to red in the road jerseys. Red Sox means RED, not Navy blue except as a secondary coler. The roadies did look nice.

The Yankees get Houston which could be an advantage, but they still have to play the game. We got Baltimore but I think as I did yesterday, we should have won that game. It hurts even more because Buck Showalter just gives me a total royal pain in my balls. The more I see of him the more I despise the guy.

Very freaky Ted. It wasn't such a happy place at my house this morning. My team went down yesterday afternoon and my wife's team hit the skids badly in the evening after jumping out to an impressive 3-0 start. The Angels did a lot to try and fix their bullpen over the winter but it was two veterans of that bunch who gave it all up in a six run ninth for the Mariners. Robby Cano looked pretty good at the plate going two for four and I think he might give Mike Trout and Miguel Cabrera a run for their money in the AL Batting Title chase. No matter how you slice or dice it, the guy can hit.

Jon Lester pitched a hell of a game today and those types of games are the kind we have to win......and we didn't this time out. We'll see if this gets to be a habit; if so we could be in some trouble. The team has a day to gather their thoughts and come out smoking on Wednesday and by all means we must not get swept in Baltimore and head back home 0-3. Early as it is, I think Sox Sport that the team must rally and come back with a nice win next time out. We need to get some of those 12 men we left on base home and hit a helluva better with RISP and very little in the way of LOBsters.

My man Youk----thanks for watching my back......and to think there were actually a couple of people here who once doubted that I was a Red Sox fan. Today's game was frustrating because it was so winnable and I just don't like that miserable Buck Showalter and like losing to his team even less.

Navafan----I believe in clutch hitting, always have and always will. Out hitting a team in total hits isn't worth a warm pitcher of spit if those hits do not drive in runs. Since we left 12 men on base and were 0 for 10 with runners in scoring position I'd say all in all we put in a s***** job today. In addition, Jackie Bradley has no business being on the team. He needs at-bats down on the farm where he can learn how to hit the inside pitch....if he ever can. He can't do that coming off the bench in the Bigs. Besides, Corey Brown showed a lot of talent and moxie in ST and I think he might be a better fit at the present time. Also, as much as I like your namesake and think of him as a very steady and solid ballplayer, he is NOT a leadoff man. We have one in Grady Sizemore and IMHO he needs to be inserted there by next game. Now I don't consider myself any better a Red Sox fan that anyone else on this board but I take the losses harder I guess. They piss me off, especially losing to a miserable horse face like Buck Showalter. I also have to wait an extra day for our team to try and make amends for today. I'll be walking the floor tonight on my potty break, that you can be sure of.

Since you put it that way it is not too must to ask. However, we all know that negotiations were proceeding along pretty well up until a week ago. None of us knew the particulars but there was no storm warning. Now all of a sudden talks are put on hold. I've seen this movie before. I saw it with Damon, I saw it with Bay, and I'm seeing it now. Lester wants to stay in Boston, he has made that very very clear and I take him at his word. My gut feeling is that the FO office is feeding off that and thinking they can get him at a bargain. THAT IS MY OPINION!!!!!! It could be that suddenly Lester sees all the money being talked about with other pitchers and now we wants to cash it and I wouldn't be surprised if some people here have come to that conclusion. I haven't. Jon was too emotional and too sincere to be putting on an act. I want this guy signed because we need him and he is a damn good pitcher----and let me tell you this: If he keeps pitching as did today the price will only go up. I would suggest that Cherington do what he can to restart contract talks and get Jon's name on the dotted line.
