  1. Nice at-bat from Holt. Fouled off pitches till he got the one he wanted. He showed some moxie up there. Well if Lackey can hold them we might come back and get a couple next inning.
  2. Yea RJ, pile on....and then tell me why we look so s***** again tonight. You're a stat man.....How about telling everyone how each Red Sox player in hitting with RISP. And I repeat, Roberts should be released. You don't take a Cubs reject on your team without the smell permeating the whole ball club from Boston to Cape Cod.
  3. Well I'm right in there with the Red Sox. Neither of us seem to be able to get our s*** together tonight. And my wife just told me to shut up.....I'm scaring the dogs. It's almost laughable the way we've been going so far. I just wonder if and when it will turn around. Got any idea?
  4. Kind of like us at the moment against the Orioles. Are you watching the game? We can't get on base, hit too damn many pop flies and can't seem to hit with RISP when we do get on base.
  5. Now instead of sending him down to Pawtucket when no one else claims him and be faced with the possibility of seeing this turd again, this time they need to release a guy they DFA. Like Roberts and his 105 average. As for tonight, Lackey needs to keep the ball in the park and continue his success against the Orioles by pitching a solid game while the bats have to wake up.
  6. Never done anything else ever????? Are you s***ing me Youk? In a mostly platoon situation last season he hit 303, slugged 12 homers and drove in 66 runs with an OBA of, what, about .385? Sorry but that dog won't hunt.
  7. And BTW, you say you remember me from other boards, well job that memory of yours. Didn't I predict that if we didn't close the deal the Yankees would swoop in and sign him? When the talks went on and on that's when I said the Yankees would take him even though all your Pollyanna friends on that old board still insisted it wouldn't happen. Remember?????? You seem to remember a lot of other things---you should remember that. And I predict that if we blow the Lester deal it will hurt even more AND HE WILL WIND UP IN PINSTRIPES.
  8. Well I can guarantee you that we will hashing the Lester thing way past Doomsday and every day of the week if Cherington blows it and let's him walk---especially if he goes to the Yankees. We might just kiss goodbye any chance of winning another WS in the forseeable future if that happens. It must not.
  9. Well I'll and everyone with a pair of balls will or should be bitching loudly if we fail to sign Jon Lester to an extension, and for the record, every game we wait to do it only drives his price higher and higher, and for the further record, WE HAVE NO ONE, NOT A DAMN PITCHER, who can replace him in the rotation, not Lackey, not Doubrant and certainly not Hangnail Buchholz. The fact that we have allowed this to go this far is absolutely insanity. Sign the guy and do it now.
  10. The Yankees signed Teixiera, he led the league in homers and RBI's in 2009 and the Yankees won the World Series that year. He also had solid year in 2010 and 2011 and both times the Yanks made the playoffs. The last two years were wasted but when you sign someone and he leads you to a WS title the contract you got him for was gold. And BTW, if we had had Teixiera in 2009 maybe he would have been the difference in our winning something instead of crawling into the playoffs and getting thumped three and out by the Angels. 2012, 2013 and beyond, well maybe you can say we didn't blow it.
  11. I got a much needed shot in the arm in the ninth when Bellasario came in to pitch for the ChiSox. He used to pitch for the Dodgers and he is pure horseshit. If we couldn't score off him we can't score of anybody. And will someone remind Ben that Jon's price is going to keep going up if he keeps pitching like that---so sign him damn it.
  12. We all know that Pal and a lot of us here have said it. Apparently, it has gone right over Ben's head. I don't want to see Jon in pinstripes damn it!!!!!
  13. I hope you're dispensing some good mojo Jason. We can use some tonight.
  14. Mujica developed a reputation in St. Louis as a choke-up artist and was relegated to the s*** pile before the playoffs last season. We have a Cardinals fan on board here so maybe he can give us the lowdown on miserable Mujica. I thought he found himself with that one inning closer gem against the Yankees but apparently not. We don't need a replay of the Hanrahan-Bailey Two Step with Eddie----though in defense of H and B they were hurt when they stunk things up for us. Let's see if we can put three or four runs on the board and win two in a row for a change. Yes, however, I will take the win.
  15. Stanton is a terrific young slugger but I don't think the Marlins are interested in moving him since they are in full rebuilding mode with him and Fernandez the cornerstones to their future. Also, getting Stanton is not going to make up for losing our No. 1 pitcher when we have only mediocrities at the present time to take his place and there is no guarantee that Renaudo and Owens are going to be as good as we hope they can be. I don't include Delarosa and Webster in that group either because IMHO they are never going to be anything by below average pitchers. Maybe Barnes will turn out well, and look at dark horse Noah Ramirez down in Double AA. He is a sleeper but I've seen this guy pitch and he has moxie coming out of his ass. I also sponsored him on the local Babe Ruth Team I started over four decades ago.
  16. Kennedy is full of s***!!!!!!! this is the same dance we've heard before---like when we lost Damon, Bay and then blew the Teixeira sweepstakes in between. The usual crap we then hear is "well we gave it our best shot but couldn't quite come to an agreement but we did the best we could". More ********!!!! Then it ends when the owners trash Lester after he leaves by questioning his loyalty and work habits. Come on, we've seen this so many times we should have it memorized in our brains.
  17. Well our offense isn't exactly anything short of pathetic at the present time either Jacko. I think 700Hitter is aware of that and is as embarrassed by our rotten hitting as I am.
  18. Seems to be working out for you and your gang. I would hope that we Red Sox fans would start concerning ourselves with why we off to such a s***** start.....again, save for 2013. Could it be we treated Spring Training as one big hangover party? Most say no; I say yes.
  19. Don't listen to that baboon Bellhorn. I just put the guy back on ignore and there to stay. Whether it affects other teams or not....it effects the Red Sox in a very negative way. Check 2009 and 2011 for disastrous starts and late season collapses. Check 2010 and 2012 and you will see a pattern. We had a decent spring in 2013, didn't we? See the difference?
  20. I'm not shaving until we get a win......and I look pretty grubby after three straight losses. As you said, win a f***ing game.
  21. Right OJ, and it would be swell if he starts hitting like we think he can and help carry the team until the rest of the group comes back.
  22. Right 700, it's a theory and my opinion. Trouble is there are a few douches on the board who want people to think a certain way like what comes out of their mouths is gold instead of more theoretical ******** as well.
  23. Spud, you called me and nicely told me I was full of it. Fine. Doing it that way I can take it and respect the one doing it. As long as it doesn't get personal, which one douchebag on this board still doesn't understand. I might also point out that also in 2013, we got off to a helluva lot better start so that 2-9 stretch, as bad as it was, didn't put us in a hole.
  24. The only insufferable douchebag I know is you. You can't read very well and misinterpret half of what Ted, Sox Sport and some of the rest of us say. And let me warn you once again shitface.....you get personal and start calling me names and I will respond in a way that will fry you f***ing ears. You want to disagree with me, fine, but keep the personal attacks out of it or I'll once again make you go cry like the big pussy you are to the mods.
  25. Well Pal, that means we should see some drumfire hitting from him the next two nights since we face lefties both times. Needless to say we need him to start hitting with authority and start driving in some runs.
