  1. If you noticed master mind I didn't start posting on the Game Thread until well into the game. Could it be I was not at home for a few hours from say two to five Pacific Time? HHHMMMMM???
  2. Either Cherington has his thumb up his ass and is living in a fantasy world OR there are no deals for pitching out there at the present time. I think the former but I could be wrong. With that in mind and thinking of the Saturday Night Massacre of '73 that was the focal point in the undoing of President Nixon (your hero User), I think we need a Wednesday Morning Massacre to wake this team up and bring some urgency to a season that is already starting to unravel. This might be a way to do it. 1. Release Mujica.....no DFA, just release the ineffective and useless son of a bitch. 2...Send Craig down to the minors and if he doesn't want to go, release him too. 3. Bring up Rodriguez and Johnson because at least they're young and have some promise and they can't do any worse than the cruds we currently have getting their asses reamed. 4. Banish Buchholz to the bullpen...and whether he can pitch out of the pen is immaterial at this point. Just get tough with this pussy and see if he can swim against the tide now that he is not being babied anymore. These aren't earth shaking moves but they are moves and they are needed. We have dead weight, ineffective non-contributers, and an offense that might be waking up but can score ten or more runs a game every time out with the s***** pitching we have. Put Rod and Jon into the rotation to take the places of Fuchholz and Masterson, the latter can pitch out of the pen. Would these moves be effective? I think it would be a move in the right direction from the s*** we currently find ourselves in.
  3. If that's your policy, then fine Youk. Personally I took it with a grain of salt. Some of the barbs coming my way have been really both hilarious and ridiculous. I got reamed last week when I started a game thread that was promised to someone else. Tonight I get reamed because I didn't start the game thread for this game? Is there some kind of rule on this board that I'm not aware of? Maybe to quiet the clamor down I should start the GT tomorrow?
  4. Right mvp----I ruined everyone's night, even my own. I do have a radical suggestion for those lunk heads in the front office which I will announce after this debacle.
  5. Nah d-money....It's not Buchholz's fault. He just pitched crappy. It's really my fault because I didn't start the game thread again tonight. Raging? I think s*** like this is really hilarious.
  6. Do you really have to ask that question.....the answer is Fuchholz and Mujackoff. This is insane. How s***** is this team going to be this year with a disgraceful pitching staff like this? And, please, no Pollyanna ******** tonight....pretty please. Some of us here would find that unendurable.
  7. And Cherington had better get his thumb out of his ass and start his resume because if we finish last again, and that's a good bet with this horse s*** staff we have he's the one whose going to take the fall and he will have earned his ticket out of Boston.....the incompetent son of a bitch.
  8. Give it up----he's a lost cause in Boston. He never wanted to play here. Send him back to the NL.
  9. I stand corrected Ted. Your take was much better.
  10. Israel----This is not aimed at any one poster in particular because there are about seven to ten of them here, but those people simply do NOT like reading anything that makes them unhappy or slams anything about the Red Sox. Too bad I say. They don't have to read those posts that upset them or they can put their "antagonizers" on ignore. You were totally on point before the season when you insisted we needed TWO good starting pitchers to enter the season. You have been painfully proven right but instead of saying the guy was on to something, instead the reaction is anger, willfulness and constant denial. Hold your ground if you think you're right---concede on points where your ideas might be a little shaky. I still think Porcello might turn out fine for us.....but you don't and right now you are in total command on that issue. However, if it turns out that Porcello turns out to be a white elephant don't expect praise and kudos but instead a variety of smart alecky remarks and resentment from t hose who were wrong. As good a board as this is, that is one of the problems I've seen here since I've been a poster.
  11. Haven't taken it yet NS, but it is time for someone else to pick it up from The Dean and throw their hat in the ring. I figure you might be a good candidate. Go for it!!!!!
  12. Thanks Ted-----now let's see the next game thread starter repeat the performance tonight.....and try to keep it going.
  13. Not so fast User. Remember we won the opener of the last two series only to get humiliated in s***** performances the next two of both of them. I will not cease until we start winning some games in bunches and Cherington gets his head out of his pocket and gets us some pitching.
  14. NB---with some of your travails recently, the Dean here is dedicating this win tonight to you---which I decided I can since I predicted it this afternoon.
  15. Of course, the problem is that Craig just needs more at-bats. That what my friend Kimmi told me today. I think she feels differently about that now. Put Craig on a plane and get that moping bastard out of town.
  16. They now become the favorites to get Cole Hamels while Cherington sits in his office with his finger up his ass.
  17. Yes I am.....because it is coming off the rails, and I totally disagree with you and others who say Holt is a bench player. When you're leading the league in hitting and batting hundreds of points higher than some of the stiffs in the lineup, you put the guy in the lineup and you keep him there. Craig is done in Boston. He never liked being traded here and said so the day the trade was made. No use beating a dead horse on that. If he doesn't hit in the next three or four games get his ass out of town. And enough of this I understand wanting to keep Holt in the lineup and also understand the need to get Craig some consistent at-bats. No, you have to stop running around Robin Hood's barn and try staying in the middle on this. Right now the team sucks and if it doesn't wake up soon we will have another 2012 and 2014 on our hands, and I can assure you fans in Boston, the press and media will not be as pollyannish in giving Prune Face and Co a pass. Things had better start changing in a hurry or the next time we blink we may be in last place.
  18. And I remember well Israel that you were the loudest in saying we not only needed one quality starting pitcher entering the season---you said we needed two. You're started to look smarter by the minute until things get so bad we might need three. I keep hearing some of our colleagues saying just wait until the trade deadline. Yea, then what? What if we are dead in the water by then? What if some of the smarter teams don't pull a Prune Face-Lester debacle and resign their pitchers? What if the asking price remains high and we refuse to pay the price? We had better start winning games in bunches real soon or we will be talking about next year in June or July and some of us here will be on the warpath for Cherington's scalp while fire rages from some of our noses and steam erupts from our ears.
  19. I'll try and start the game thread for tonight's game unless I'm upstaged again by someone else who was promised this thankless job. The stumbling Red Sox play host to the Blue Jays in the opening of a three game series, and what is not needed is to help another team get out of a slump at our expense as the Rays and Orioles did. We're at home and we have to hit in sync, t he pitching has to be crisp and consistent and the manager has to show some dugout smarts for a change and have someone warming up by the sixth inning and being a little faster on the draw this time in getting him out of there when trouble brews. We seem to have trouble with those damn nuclear innings. In addition, the league's leading hitter has to be in the lineup, and I don't want to hear anymore stupid mutterings from Farrell that "it is a real challenge to find a way to get Holt in the lineup". Oh really???? Tonight Joe Kelly, who may or not be our No. 1 pitcher, takes the rubber against a guy named Sanchez who is 1-2 with a high ERA. It is time for our team to start playing baseball, stop feeling sorry for themselves and stop pointing fingers at the umpires or the opposition. There are some people in the lineup who are not doing the job and they must be taken out of the lineup, our bullpen has to stand tall and the Red Sox must start showing some of that hard edged pride that has won this franchise three WS Titles the past 11 seasons. Let me do my part to help this along......Tonight we watch our Red Sox win the opener by a score of 7-4----and then go on to win this series and the next one, and possibly the third one too.
  20. I always feel the same way User when someone my life leaves me. You feel diminished in a lot of ways. Heck, when I heard VA's husband had lost his battle with that dreaded disease I felt bummed out and I had never met the man. I think it is good that we feel that way. It makes us more human and sympathetic to the plight of others. It's not a bad character trait to have. Very sorry to hear of your loss.
  21. Ever think we might be dead by the deadline? Our miserable starting rotation had better start doing their jobs while the offense hits in sync. Having Napoli have a great day on Saturday while Ortiz goes 0 for 5, and close to vise versa the day before isn't going to get the job done. The team must hit in sync. This home stand is going to tell us an awful lot about our team. If we suck on these three series, May or not, we will be in deep s***.
  22. I'm going to have the temerity (or is the stupidity) of starting the game thread tomorrow. I figure I can't do worse than some of the others even though it is out of our hands since we don't have a shred of power to do anything about what goes on on the field. Hell, maybe I'll have some good vibes and we can start a winning streak.
  23. Trying to inject some caustic humor into a pretty sad and sorry situation Youk. All of us feel miserable right about now but some of us have a shorter fuse than others.
  24. Hey, UN was being a good trooper and trying to dispense some positive mojo. He can't pitch for Smiley Miley or think for that baboon in the dugout. We will need a complete housecleaning this fall is we have another 2012 or 2014 season. Cherington is in over his head and is best suited for a job as Theo Epstein's gofer---which is what he was pretty much before. As for Farrell, he has front office experience but says he like the dugout. He doesn't belong in the dugout....kick him upstairs in charge of the latrines.
  25. And someone should have a talk with Farrell, followed by a swift kick in the ass and some advice of keeping Holt in that damn lineup come what may---maybe bring up Johnson. He can't be any worse than the garbage we've been sending out to the mount this season.
