  1. Jackson, I live in So. Cal and that post is about as funny and hilarious a one as I have ever read. Great job and all Californians should appreciate the humor in it. Nice going.
  2. Moose, we just might get along yet. Your question beat mine all to hell and, no sheeeet, I am sitting here LMFAO. As a happily married man I detest what Derek Lowe did, but, you know, he did the same thing in Boston and his wife knew it. I can be a prude about things like that but she should have thrown his ass out of the house the first time he did it. Nice going. The answer was Wednesday, April 16, 1958. The score was 13-1, the pitcher was Johnny Podres, and the game pretty much was over in the first inning when Duke Snider hit a two run homer off of Ramon Monzant. I remember that date because for the first freakin' time I had moved into my own separate bedroom from my brother that very night. I no longer had to share a damn room with anyone. I said I had a photographic memory. Now if you want to know what I had for dinner three nights ago you and I are S#$% out of luck because I haven't a damn clue. But go back decades and I seem to do ok. Still, I liked your question better. Notice Hughes still hasn't found employment and I think I would also catergorizie her the same way.
  3. Super Manny, Drew has a very good arm, he has a very good bat, he can field, run and throw as well as hit for power. He has been subject to a lot of crap over the past couple of years and especially from a few bitter Dodger fans in LA. Barring unforseen circumstances, this guy is going to have some very good yearss for us.
  4. Moose, I once was so fanatical a Brooklyn Dodger fan as a kid some of my teachers thought I should be checked out for any abnormalities. It just didn't seem right. When they left Brooklyn it hit me very hard and I never took to them in LA. I will admit the move has turned out to be a very good one with packed crowds, a great stadium, and for the most part a good record. The cheap shot you talk about will be passed off by the Dodger brass when I purchase a 27-game mini-ticket package when they go on sale. I think they would accept me giving the team a cheap shot for buying the package, don't you? And, yes, I will pull for them to win the NL Pennant so the Red Sox can beat them in the WS. OK, let's have some fun Moose. Quiz, Give me the date, opponent, score and pitcher of the first Dodger win as the Los Angeles franchise.
  5. You're a woman? Hard to believe, but I will treat you as one from here on in. Now behave yourself. You are in my territory now. Let's have civility and baseball. This is NOT DB.
  6. Moose, I will make this very clear to you once and for all. I love the Red Sox, live and die with them. I like the Dodgers but they are so far down in the food chain compared to the Red Sox that you cannot see them in your rear view mirror. Capice???? And if they meet in the WS I would like the Red Sox to knock the living hell out of them. (substitute hell for S#$% in my last post). OK Moose? Now, let's move on.
  7. A peaceful solution is possible here; not so on Dodger blues. And don't give any baloney that the DB Board can hold a candle to his one; no way in hell. We have a bunch of classy people here who try to help each other out if they stumble or go off the deep end. They do just the opposite over there. And one more thing eZ. Red Sox fans don't usually jump over other Red Sox fans. We are supposed to be extended family and root for one of the most popular teams in baseball. So we now have a peaceful solution as far as I'm concerned, but there is one more item that I feel must be brought up before we all, hopefully, move on to a more united group. I told you and some of the others on that board that I was going to follow the Dodgers for the first time since they left Brooklyn. When I said that on other board I was welcomed with open arms. On the DB board they thought that was a fraud and illegal as hell even though I was a Dodger fan before many of those jerks were born. I really hope the Dodgers can make it to the WS this year and get to play the Red Sox and we wind up kicking the living s*** out of them. Anyway, have a good evening and weekend.
  8. James Perez???? I don't even know who the hell he is. Someone is putting you on with that one. As far as "knowing it all" I most certainly do not, but when I saw some of your friends over there get their facts wrong I tried to correct them to help out and instead I got jumped all over and was accused to trying to show them up. Not the case, but I got mad and challenged them to a contest---a stupid move admittedly. The fact is I have a photographic memory which also drove them wild. I entertain people at parties by telling what day of the week they were born on and if I can what happened that day. Sometimes I actually remember what I was doing then. Proof? The $10,000 dollars I won on a game show some years back. No harm meant. Tell you what, send my a private message, tell me the date of your birth and let's see if we can have some fun. I read your private profile and you are not a secret admirer of that certain person. As for Linda, come clean. Why did you pick that in the first place. Now on to baseball.
  9. Fine EZ, if I get out of line I am asking to catch hell. That is fine, but I don't like when my wife is called a bitch, a whore, and worse, or when someone makes nasty remarks about my daughter or son-in-law. I'm the target, stay on me, not my family. And I never said all the posters there were *******s, just about a half-dozen of them, and I never left with my tail between my legs. I came on there to talk baseball but baseball was rarely the conversation with those guys. It was always personal stuff, nasty and vile. One more fact for your file; many on that board did not really know that much about their team. I heard them make mistake after mistake and when I tried to set the record straight they went after me. No, there were other targets there as well but it wasn't fun anymore so I don't post there. Nothing wrong with different opinions and you will find me a worthy adversary when we discuss our respective teams if baseball is the topic and not my family. Hopefully, this clears things up here and we can get on with baseball.
  10. OK, suppose you are right. A lot of doubles leads to a good OBP and batting average and maybe some extra RBI's. You may have a point but all I know is that Lugo was hitting over 300 with 12 homers when the Rays traded him last summer. Drew? Well I'm a little more prepared for this one. I saw J.D. close to a dozen times last summer hit the ball to left center for long outs and doubles. He can use the Monster well and that would mean more homers and RBI's because Drew can go the other way and do it well. Hey, my friend, what are you trying to do, rain on my parade?
  11. I don't know about Pudge but Linda is a Dodger troll and probably bitter at Drew leaving the Dodgers in the lurch. Bad for them and good for us. J.D. is going to love hitting in Fenway Park. He knows how to go the other way and can use the Green Monster to his advantage and though he has power does not swing for the fences all the time, and that means with all the room in right center field he can get his share of two baggers, and he's smart enough to turn on the inside hard one and also take advantage of the Pesky Pole. As far as Lugo is concerned he has always liked hitting at Fenway and I figure his 15-16 homers would more than cover for Gonzo's nine, and while Nixon hit only seven this past season Drew ought to be good for between 25-30, and those figures translates into a higher RBI total and probably a better batting average for both of them. What's not to like? :D
  12. yezsir, on this board and on other Red Sox websites there had been a lot of discussion as to just how much our front office was committed to winning. Well I think we have our answer. They are very willing to put up plenty of cash to get what we need to win and that ought to make us all breath a sigh of relief. Of course, it isn't our money, but, then again, they have a lot more than the rest of us do and they can make a lot of it back because of the popularity of the Red Sox and our willingness to put up our own hard earned cash to see them play. Hell, I can't wait to get to Fort Myers in March and jump the gun myself. Now if we can sign Matsu and get a closer I think we will be in good shape for next season. PS, is there anyway you can get rid of those trolls who keep coming on here raising hell and getting personal. I've dealt with some of them before and they can outright pollute a board. We've gotten rid of them on other Red Sox websites and should be able to do so here. This is a great board and we don't need people like that ruining it for the rest of us. :D :D
  13. Between Dan Patrick and his satrap Keith Olbermann I frankly wouldn't believe a word I hear from either of them. They seem to talk incessantly and say nothing. Besides, I have heard Patrick make predictions before and except for Phillips on ESPN I have never heard of anyone more wrong more times than this guy. Of course, I have an ax to grind. I don't want Manny in LA or anywhere else. We need him to protect Ortiz and take some of the pressure off of J.D. Drew. That would give us a pretty damn good 3-5 trio. :D :D
  14. Jackson, as one who was diagnosed with low grade lymphoma myself January of 2005 I can understand and revel in Jon's progress and think it great that he is just about cancer free. His was more critical than mine is but I guess his his curable, mine is treatable, goes away, comes back, and so on. I only hope that we don't rush Jon back until he is fully capable of doing so. I know people who have been on chemo and it takes a lot out of you. Since he is young he is strong enough to take it and come back stronger. I still feel a little guilty as how I got on his case last August in Anaheim when he seemed to be struggling on the mound and seemed to be hard-pressed to pitch at all. If I knew that he was hurting I would have kept my tongue. Thank goodness he is going to be ok. That alone should make all of RSN happy. On another happy note, what do you think of the Drew and Lugo signings? I have been in good spirits all day, except, of course, dealing with our troll intruders.
  15. ORS, that was probably a one time thing. The guy is from the Dodger Blues site and all you have to do is just log in there and see the titles of the posts and you will understand what these trolls are all about. Not an ounce of class in them. On to something more important my friend. What's your take on the Drew and Lugo signings? Are you optimistic as I am? I really think we have solidified our lineup and improved offensively in two key spots. Expensive? Yes, but that was the market this year.
