  1. I remember the Yankee dilemma Jacko now that you mention it. I want no part of any six man rotation, but I am anxious for Jon Lester to get his legs and stamina under him, if indeed, he still needs to do that, and get him into our rotation as soon as feasible. Why? We could then send Taverez back as middle reliever and patch up a weakness there. Timlin looks like he might have reached the end of the road unless there is a drastic turnaround. One thing is certain, the staff that can stay healthy during the dog days of summer might just end up on top in all the divisions.
  2. A very encouraging sign Rdsx-----and we need another bat getting hot in the worst way. With Schilling apparently becoming less effective we need to score more runs to pick up the slack and that is also why I want Lester up as soon as he's ready. It means we can put Taverez back as middle reliever and alleviate a problem there. Unless there is a drastic turnaround by the guy, I think Timlin has just about shot his wad for us. Sad in a way because I have always been a Timlin man.
  3. "Don't let the door his your ass on the way out." Pretty freakin mean my friend. No sentiment standing in your way. I am usually that way with players who stay around too long and clog up the works but I can never relinquish my affection for Curt no matter how s***** he does from here on out. I guess I'm more sentimental that I would like to admit, but the guy really put his ass on the line for all of RSN three seasons ago, the team, the town, the fans, everyone. Hard to not appreciate that. I hope that he somehow rights his ship and finishes up his last year with us on a high note. Not just for him but for all of us. We need him at his best to have any chance of getting into the Playoffs this season and hopefully further.
  4. I love Curt Schilling and will always be grateful for what he did for us in 2004, and I am not yet ready to put him out to pasture. I hope to see him straighten out and finish with a decent record and season. Next year? I hope he decides to retire while he still has a semblance of credibility, but knowing how the guy loves the limelight we will pitch somewhere, probably for the Mets.
  5. One more thing. Will someone please tell me why our brilliant manager had Jason Varitek batting fifth??? He has done that before with disastrous results and I thought he was over that, but apparently not. Varitek has never been a fifth hitter and never will be. All we can do is call it a night and get them tomorrow.
  6. You know what really hurts? Checking the box score on my wife's cell phone and then watching down on the field as Orlando Cabrera is hitting singles, doubles, stealing bases, making dazzling plays in the infield while we are stuck with a guy who has forgotten how to play baseball. Is it possible the Rays saw this happening last summer and dumped him on the Dodgers. Another surprise! Mark Loretta is hitting up a storm, and, get this, playing a dazzling shortstop. He made a fantastic six-to three double play by leaping over a runner and getting the second out at first. He also got a three run double, single and a rope to center. Maybe it's the atmosphere around our shortstop. We need to be snakebit there, not that it would made any difference with the way Curt pitched tonight.
  7. MTB, here we go again. Hardly any time to savor our three-game sweep of the Giants until we have to wade into the maelstrom again. I'm counting on you and Fitzy to keep the mojo working.
  8. eZ, I think you're a spot-on with your take on Lugo, but with Drew I think this guy is going to turn out just fine for the Red Sox. Of course, if he does I'm only batting one for two because if you've been following this discourse over the past few months I was really talking up Lugo as just the guy we need to lead off, steal a ton of bases and hit 12-15 homers. I hope he comes around because I really like him even though I was pissed he couldn't even lay down a damn bunt yesterday. Just be grateful that the Dodgers don't have the Yankees in their division to contend with. Not only do they have the best hitting in baseball but you never know when George Steinbrenner is going to slam down a nice big fat check for some reinforcements which seems to do every year, not that he needs anymore than he has.
  9. EX. yes there were some of us who were Pedroia people from the get-go, but it was astounding how some really felt this guy was never going to make it. They forget all the hard outs he made last year after his call-up, and more important, how well he performed against the Yankees. As for Ellsbury, bring the guy up. He is another Pedroia only probably better with more power and speed. I can see Jacoby and Dustin being our one-two punch at the top of the order for a long time when the kid is finally brought up where I think he now belongs. :D :D :D :D
  10. I think you're right on that Bo but I want to wait another few games before I make any leaps like that. So far, so good. Now with Lugo, I'm beginning to think he has become a big blacl hole for us. He seems to be getting himself dug deeper in a hole and after yesterday's sorry performance I think Pena best place is somewhere deep on our bench, if not a ticket out of town. He's getting worse by the day.
  11. Heads Up my friend. Just perused over there and someone named SeaBeachFred made a very insulting reference to you. The only problem is that is was someone else and not me. Amazing what those *******s will do. Fortunately, there are four or five posters on that board taking them on tit for tat. Notice, they never talk baseball because most of them don't know s*** about it. We have a real board yeszir. Be proud of that.
  12. You don't???? I call is piss vassa, and to tell the truth the only time I had a cup it felt like I someone drank the stuff before I did and heaved. It truly tasted s*****. Haven't had one since and have no intention of trying it again. Cranberry-Orange drink for me.
