  1. I would be the first one to say I was glad to be wrong if we could land a player like Teixiera. A switch hitter who can hit for both average and power, with more emphasis on the fact that he can his consistently and is not a strikeout threat like some other power hitters in the league. Of course, are you ready to empty part of the bank to get him? I know who the Rangers will ask for; check that, I think I know who they will ask for and so do you. Would it be worth trading Bucholz and Ellsbury for the guy? If it wasn't those two I would go for it in two shakes of Crespo's alleged brain.
  2. Since when is it a given that a young pitcher can't make the jump from Double AA to the Majors? From what I hear Bucholz is doing in Portland and what I saw of him down in Fort Myers this kid has the moxie to make the move effectively, and it would great to blend him into a rotation with Lester, Matsuzaka, Beckett, and whatever guy winds up in the fifth spot----Wakefield, Gabbard, Methusala???? I've finally come to the realization that Schilling is finishing up his last year with us, sad to say.
  3. Mark suggested that since we have an off day tomorrow we just skip Schilling's start and pencil in Josh Beckett for Sunday's game. He will have his normal amount of rest and should be more than ready to go. Hell, he only pitched six innings last night so he shouldn't be fatigued. Besides, we are facing Jake Peavy on Sunday; we don't need a Gabbard or a Hansack pitching in what would amount to a throwaway game if they are on the mound. Beckett vs Peavy on Sunday is the best way to go.
  4. I saw your avatar and like the look of your dog. Male or female? I have one a little like yours but don't know for sure what Lucy is. My daughter found her roaming around Cirtus College out here and brought her home. Our best guess with the help of vets is that she is a combo of Rat-Terrier, Boston Terrier, and Chihuahua. She's going to be eight this summer. Bonnie was a "gift" that my daughter brought home on New Year's day, 2000. She is a basset hound-beagle mix. Bonnie is about four five months younger than Lucy. The other two are pedigrees---one a Golden Retriever named Brittany who will be six on the 4th of July, and a Chichuahua named Penny who is close to five. DOGS RULE!!!!!!! And Crespo, stop wasting your time answering my posts. You're on ignore and I couldn't give a rat's ass what half-ass crap you write with that peabrain of yours.
  5. If you could guarantee that KTF I would make sure I put them on a diet AFTER the season is over. Hell, it is only about one teaspoon full for each girl but boy do they look forward to it. Just kind of a tradition I started five years ago.
  6. No, not chocolate; chocolate is terrible for dogs. I got into the habit of treating them to ice cream after a Red Sox win some years ago and now they four pooches expect it. Good win last night coupled with a Yankee loss. I think the guy who said Josh Fogg was a lemon must be revising his opinions right about now. We need the rubber game tonight.
  7. The Yankees went down 3-1 in Colorado. Good to know the Rocks can spoil it for them as they did for us. About this Josh Fogg; didn't someone say how badly he sucked last week before be pitched against us? Seems he has started to unsuck in a hurry. Good night all around. I think I will treat my four dogs to a little ice cream treat.
  8. Take a bow Schill and don't stop now. Of course, I wish you could have something mojo wise about the rain. I thought our momentum might be halted with the downpour but Snyder, Oki and Paps stood tall. A good win all around. Now let's do everything we can to get the rubber game and win this series.
  9. If it works I'll drink to that.
  10. Again, let's wait and see what the MRI says before any of us jump to conclusions.
  11. Why are Breslow and Hughes so looked down upon by the Red Sox? Their stats at Pawtucket are a helluva lot better than Delcarmen's and Hansen's, too. We have seen the past two seasons when Manny has been up here that he can't locate his pitches, walks too many batters, then gets lit up. We need relievers who can get batter out, not one who impressed because he hit the speed gun at 95. What good is that if the ball is staight as an arrow, or isn't located properly in the strike zone, or is out of the strike zone. We've seen all of this with Delcarmen before.
  12. Most of us would Tiexiera but the Rangers don't seem anxious to trade him. I wish we could re-plug Drew in the fifth spot and put Pedroia and Youk one-two. That would give us two good hitters at the top and three run producers in the heart of our lineup where the power should be. Be that as is may, I would accept any lineup that results in us getting more wins.
  13. Rod, Pohlad may be a cheap ******* but he is smart enough to know his team is doomed if he lets Santana get away. All the Morneaus and Hunters couldn't save that franchise. You do not let a pitcher with that talent walk away. Besides, I hear they are close to financing a new ballpark for the team which would be a big money-maker, and that ought to give the guy enough cash to keep some of his better players. As for Hunter, the talk is Texas.
  14. Redundant as hell but we need a win tonight. It's time we start building some new momentum of our own. I wonder if the Rockies are going to be able to take the measure of the Yankees in their three game series. They get Fogg the first game, the same pitcher we were supposed to hammer last time and didn't. Just to play it same we need to give Josh Beckett great support and he need's to pitch a gem tonight.
  15. Crespo, you had better back off and back off fast. You are not to respond to any of my posts and I will not respond to any of yours. You like acting like douche from DB, fine, go there, but getting personal with me is not going to be stood for. And, by the way, if you had half a brain you would know some friend of yours from that board posted that piece of crap you quoted. Now go back to fights and crap or climb back in your crib. This topic is for baseball people.
  16. Time is fast approaching when we are going to have to do something about our shortstop hole unless Lugo starts hitting, and I would advise you to warn Crespo about getting personal with me. I'm here to talk baseball and take any s*** from him. He's using a term those three jerks at DB used and I'm not going to stand for it from him. Through you he's been warned.
  17. Chin, let's wait until we see the results of the MRI; could be there is something wrong with his arm. Hopefully there isn't and those C, D, and E scenarios you listed are the culprits.
  18. Donut, I'm not one of them. I would much rather have Sabathia, especially with all the good lefthanded hitters in the AL East, and the guy knows the hitters better than Zambrano ever could. I just wonder if Theo is going to make a play for one of them this winter.
  19. What does that have to do with Carbrera Schill??? My point is that the guy is tearing up the league, and Loretta is playing quality shortstop in place of the injured Adam Everett and when Adam comes back and the Astros fall further behind maybe Mark might be available to bring back to our team for some key hitting and defense, not to mention some class to the roster. This season, Theo can not sit and do nothing. This thing can be won by us and once we get into the playoffs we have as good a chance as anyone. We have to start playing liket he Yankees are currently playing and that way we wouldn't have to worry about them.
