  1. We know who would like us to leave the board UN so you didnt have to tell us that, but I take issue with the whining part. It could be better classified as "frustrated verbiage", all these free agent pitchers and outfielders coming off the board and us not doing anything to sign an outfielder that we now need even more than in my earlier dronings. We still need that No. 4 pitcher and we still havent gotten him. I mean how many times does Palodios and 700 have to say "sign the check Cherington" before our bumbling GM sees what the rest of us do. Now here's one for discussion that might challenge you. Why the hell hasn't Cherington acted on these needs? Why has Henry sat on his wallet this winter? What power does Cherington even have as GM? OK, let's discuss those things. I'm all ears. Back to that first point though. One of the most vociferous advocates for us to leave the board is a person who actually didn't believe I was a Red Sox fan. I still haven't heard him say he was wrong.
  2. Some of us don't give a s*** what's on the other side of the fence, we are only concerned with what's on our side of the fence. Sure, maybe Silva or Germano or Cook or Haeger or Miller could suddenly start pitching winning baseball, maybe two of them could do what Garcia andColon did for the Yankees last y ear, but would you bet your house or even your garage on that. Do you think McDonald is a quality ML outfielder for a title contending team. Do you think Aviles or Sweeney are? Get real!!!!!! We all want the Red Sox to win but some of us see holes that others don't, and, by the way, this is a forum where opinions differ and should be respected. Some of you spend an inordinate amount of time getting a red ass from the nicknames but brush off the personal attacks that some of you throw around. Respect is a two way street. I respect your right to your opinions, you should respect o thers that differ from yours. And one last word about some of you who hammer away at the Sawxheads Board. It was the total reluctance of the pollyannas over there to admit they were totally wrong about what was going down last season that resulted in a split. Those here who post there called it almost to a tee; the others left to form their own echo chamber. It working well for us there. Now let's see why some of you don't think we need a No. 4 starter better than what we have, why McDonald will be just fine in LF, why our bullpen is top notch solid.
  3. That is your opinion and you're entitled to it, but just respect others who don't believe that....and I am one of them. We are not still pretty f***ing good on paper, like it or not. We need that No. 4 starter, and Miller, Cook, Germano, Silva and Haeger ain't that animal if youll pardon the slang. If Crawford is not ready by opening day, a good possibility, I believe strongly that McDonald and Aviles are not the answer to left field. We need another strong arm in the bullpen. Face it EX1, you don't like hearing this, but some of us see t hese needs as examples why we are not that good on paper. I have always maintained that if we get that pitcher, RH hitting outfieldeer and decent reliever we could make a run at the division this season. I have ALWAYS said that; look p my posts if you doubt it. However, until we make those additions we are not only not ready to win the division but most likely to compete with Toronto for third place, a spot we've got ourselves accustomed to the past two seasons (fact). I don't like writing this but I see it that way. Sorry if you disagree. Now tell me why I'm wrong without the personal attacks.
  4. We do talk baseball on here User, but since you are one of those who accepts things as they are we are in disagreement because you don't like what you hear. As I just wrote to one poster, we need a No. 4 pitcher and have since the end of the season. We don't have that one yet and I'm beginning to doubt that the money will be expended for such a pitcher. We need a RH hitting outfielder now more than ever because Darling Darnell McDonald is inadequate--and that's putting it mildly. We still need another decent arm in the bullpen. Ortiz should have never been given arbitration since it has tied our hands, and that is one reason I am so down on Cherington. These items are facts, not supposition and some of us have been talking like this for the past few months. The fact is you and some o thers dont like what we have to say, not taking into consideration that what we're saying is true. Wake up---our team has needs that need to be addressed and they haven't been. It is now half past January and were still waiting for compensation for Epstein's departure. I mean how can anybody be satisfield with what's going on around the Red Sox?
  5. You get 1/10 of the complaints but you just dont like the way they are phrased. Let me put some realistic colors in your paintbox. First of all, right now we are weaker than we were at the end of last season. Capice??? We have always needed a RH hitting outfielder and now we need one more than ever since Crawford is down and maybe out for awhile. Capice???? Darling Darnell is NOT the answer, or are you going to tell me that he is because you are not that naive to believe that. Varitek and Wakefield were invited to ST, a ridiculous move since neither is able to help us anymore and all they will do is distract a team that has enough distractions to worry about. Capice???? We have needed a No. 4 quality starter since the end of the season and we still don't have one. Capice???? You say you're a realist, well read what is in the threads instead of the nicknames which seem to upset you and a couple of your pals so end. I'll tell you this, if you disagree with anything Is've written in my post you are no realist at all.
  6. I don't know that SoxSport but I don't think so. Besides, how should I know that anyway. I'm a Lakers fan. Still, that is one helluva Italian restaurant. You try it yourself if you get to the North End.
  7. With those stats Palodios, no it doesn't make a difference but if I can counter your argument let me say that I think Carl's 2011 season was an abberation and not a sign of things to come. If Crawford makes even a modest comeback this season he will overwhelm anything that McDonald could do. I also believe that he is capable of doing even better than a modest comeback. What I hope is that he mends fast and is able to start the season on time and get off to a decent start. We need him to perform as his best, not what we saw last season.
  8. I find it amusing that you and a couple of others get all hot and bothered when I use nicknames as if that is some personal insult to any poster on this board. As long as I don't insult a fellow poster I see nothing wrong with giving a nickname to someone who I think is not doing his or her job. As for the post you answered, perhaps you should desist from emphasising the nicknames but read the content. What was in that was inaccurate? Nothing!!!!!!! If you find my posts annyoing skip them, or read them more carefully. What I say makes a lot of sense to me and to others who know the game well and can see for themselves how the front office is taking the team this for a one way ride. Everything is NOT copasetic with our team right now. Or do you disagree with that as well?
  9. And get this guys......Cherington the patsy said that he was confident that Aviles and McDonald will be more than adequate taking Crawford's place until he is ready. Now do any of you need anymore evidence that Benny the Boob is a complete misfit for the job he currently has? The guy is either living on Mars or he has been so emasculated by Lucchino and Prune Face that he has ceased having an identity or a real opinion of his own. Do any of you really think McDonald is adequate to take Crawfords place considering he can't hit, he can't field, he is a disaster on the bases. As for Aviles, I like the guy and think he is a good hitter but his outfield experience is in negligible and it is a lot to ask of him. It is getting harder and harder to get upbeat about this coming season, and a week ago I was saying if we got that fourth starter and another reliever we could actually win the division. Say what you will about Crawford's 2011 season, but we will miss him. I think before this injury was miraculously discovered he was on his way to a vindicative season.
  10. Well at least VA named names, something you said she wouldn't do---so give the lady some credit on that score. As for Ellsbury I have seen that he can get real salty and really climb on some of the posters he disagrees with but what I haven't seen is any insight on what should be done to remedy our currently sad and sorry state. Ok, maybe he thinks everything is copasetic, yea sure!!!!!! Mea Culpa. I said the Rangers would not sign Darvish and they did. I was wrong and wear a dunce cap for the day, but let's see if we go out and sign Oswalt now. I say we won't, and I really hope I have to wear the dc again, but someting tells me that next tie my mea culpa will be replaced by "I told you so." I really hope not.
  11. That's a silly question MVP. We pine for Dr. Morgan because who they got to take his place. Dr. Gill proved in three years what a rotten incompetent and wrong headed crud he was. His constant misdiagnoses on our players and his refusal to order MRI's turned our team into a MASH unit. The guy never should have been hired in the first place, but when it became evident that he belonged in a butcher's shop instead it was criminal that Prune Face didn't give him walking papers long before he did.
  12. Gill was a ******** of the first order and an incompetent SOB who was the main cause of most of our troubles with injuries the past two seasons. The crime was that Prune Face kept him on after 2010 when it became crystal clear that this guy was a turd and a butcher. Finally he's gone after he's been responsible for some serious damage to our teams health. He missed diagnosed an arm injury to Youk in 2009, did the same with disastrous results with Ellsbury in 2010, and first misdiagnosed Pedroia after he was injured in SF and then gave him the green light to play when he was far from ready. This past season he butchered Buchholz' injury by saying it was minor and refusing to give him an MRI. He and his crud staff as well as our rotten conditioning staff are gone and thank God for that. Too bad it took all that damage to our players through their incompetence before the dickhead Gill and his assorted band of bums were sent packing.
  13. I've always liked the guy Spitball and think he would do well in Fenway Park, but I respect your difference in opinion. Now you tell me----who do we get because we sure as hell cannot depend on McDogshit and Aviles to handle left field. Aviles is a decent hitter and good infielder and I like the guy but he is new to the outfield and darling Darnell is a liability in the field, on the bases and at bat. Who would you go after?
  14. Austin Kearns is my choice. I think we would thrive in Boston. Irish, looks like a Kennedy, and a RH hitter with some power. He's the guy I would sign and fast.
  15. Techically three 700 but Darling Darnell McDogshit is so pathetic at bat, in he field and on the bases that you'd be better playing with eight men and two outfielders. But guess what? He is most likely going to be playing out there and he sucks pure and simple. He is also one of the dumbest players in the game. Injury bug already and we haven't even got to ST yet.
  16. Have some people gone off the deep end? Youk stays where he is unless Cheringpuke is even more inept than I think he is. We cannot afford to trade our top RH power hitter and be even more stark naked left handed. We need to signs Oswalt ( less chance of that happening with each passing day), and make sure Ortiz is signed to only a ONE year contract so we can move on after this year and not block Lavarnway any longer. Oh yes, I can hear the ******** now---Ryan will be our catcher in 2013 no matter what. Again...********!!!!!!! If Salty has an improved y ear he will still be the catcher and Lav could be blocked again. To me anyway, I just think Prune Face Henry is just giving all Red Sox fans a big middle finger and telling us to f@@k off!!!!! It's take it or leave it. We'll take it because junking the Red Sox for another team even in a fit of deep anger is completely out of the question. But we can take it with a broadside of our own, like not going to Fenway Park, not buying Red Sox gear and doing our part to give Henry back our middle finger. I have no plans this year to fly to Fenway as I do twice a year. Piddle change you say? It is that but if enough people did that and if the press and media pound away at Pruney and his duplicitous SOB of a CEO, we might see some changes the following year, or these suddenly cheap bastards will get the hint, sell the team and get the hell out of Dodge.
  17. Collatoral consequences hell; it will be collatoral damage in a big way, and that is why I hold Benny the Boob in such ill repute. Too many on this board are saying give the guy a chance, let him show what he can do. It is too early to judge him. The hell with that; it is not too easy for me to do that. His giving arbitration to Ortiz was the dumbest move he or any GM could have made. It smothered our chances to get some much needed front line pitching, it blocked arguably our best hitting prospect, and results in the signing of more and more trash like Carlos Hi Ho Silva, Deutschland Justin Germano, Aaron Short Order Cook, not to mention Charlie Haegar Slacks and the miserable holdover from last season, the immortal Andrew Millstone Millbum. Then to make matters worse this boob invites Putritek and Wastefield to Spring Training, as if we didn't already have more than our share of distractions. No my friend, Cherington has already shown that he is not only not big enough for this job but is as close to being an incompetent as any GM in baseball. He is no improvement over the other bum we used to have.
  18. Are you surprised iortiz? I think I said it yesterday that I didn't think the Rangers were going to be able to sign Darvish; I just feel that they will not be able to close the deal so they will to after Oswalt---and maybe that is just as well. I've heard tell that if we give Ortiz a two year contract we would give him less money per year and that would save us some for Oswalt. If that's the master plan the Red Sox ought to shove it where the sun doesn't shine. Bad enough Lavarnway is blocked this year; it would be stupidity personified to have our best young RH power hitter kept out for two years, let alone one....and that's what would happen if we ink Papi for two. We will need some new blood in our lineup very soon and if Middlebrooks doesn't s*** the bed this season at Pawtucket as so many of our "prospects" have done in the past (Lazy Lars come to mind of most recent?), we could have two new young RH hitters with power in our lineup by 2013--and that is the way we should go unless we sign Ortiz for ONE year and then expend the money needed to sign Oswalt.
  19. Are you surprised iortiz? 20. Iortiz, this time Cheringpuke has better get off his procrastinating lazy ass and sign Roy before we lose out again on a pitcher and hear the mealy mouth excuses coming from Prune Face and his minnions. Of course, we have more important fish to fry, don't we? Like soothing the spirits and brows of Putritek and Wastefield and making sure they get a good opportunity to finish their career as Red Sox players. There isn't much time left and not very much in the way of quality pitchers left either, and something tells me Darvish will not be signed by the Rangers. For once in your worthless and useless job Boobbenny, show some balls and courage and just sign the guy and tell Pruney and Lucchinoturd that it was your job to give the fans a team that has a chance. You're the GM; act it!!!!!!
  21. That would be a nice shot of much needed energy after all this miserable talk about those two sacred cows who can't seem to understand or accept that they are through, but I will believe it when I see it. Oswalt is also being pursued by two other teams so it will be up to the Red Sox to tender than money that will get his name on the dotted line. It will immediately help us big in the pitching department which is where we need it.
