    what ive been saying for months, and came on here last week and saying (in a separate thread) that we should trade lowell to a third team, and get pieces from that third team (maybe the angels) to package with a couple prospects to send to texas that would make the most sense for all parties involved

    well then we would hafta give up one of our top two pitching prospects and we'd still hafta get rid of lowell in another deal theres no way texas wants lowell but he could be an immensely hot commodity for another team

    So, I've been thinkin about it for a while what if we could ship lowell to la of anaheim or someone else who really wants him and is willing to give up a couple good prospects for him we then ship those prospects and a couple of our own for mark teixeira the problem is we wont settle on a rental and we all know boras, teixeira will test the market no matter who he goes to i still would love to get him

    heres my prediction we give up mark loretta, mike lowell get julio lugo, ryan shealy, scott linebrink youk moves to 3b shealy becomes 1b lugo plays 2b and we get a great reliever im not so sure how i would feel about it, but i just have a feeling this is the type of big complicated trade were workin on

    one of the biggest things: he's 22 some guys can come on strong and then stink so lets not get way ahead of ourselves but, wats great is this guy was supposed to be good, and hes provin it, its not like fossum who was kind of a nobody and had some good starts, lester was known about for a while if he keeps this up he is the number three starter weve been looking for all year

    hit the nail on the head i personally read the book (loved it) couple yrs ago as for the second highest payroll, moneyball isnt just having a low payroll, its finding the highest economic value an example-david ortiz didnt cost us all that much manny-wasnt signed by the moneyball guys(theo and the trio) the 04 sox were very high on obp its not just about the overall payroll

    yes and i corrected you by saying that moneyball teams dont like to bunt, steal, sac big bashing teams will still do that stuff the yanks do it all the time

    first, its not "big bashing" teams, its "moneyball" teams that believe in not stealing bases and, i believe the yanks have always had a decent amount of sac bunts
