  1. my buddy just moved down to atl for work are there any red sox or patriots bars down there
  2. ive been high on this kid since we got him, and really think he could be a great setup guy for us for the foreseeable future
  3. i dont see capuano gettin moved for anything short of lester being thrown in btw, capuano is from springfield and pitched at cathedral (fwiw-my senior yr in football...4.5 yrs ago we beat cathedral 60-0)
  4. hey nem, nice to see you made it on here (patsfan55 from patsfans.com) anyway, have to disagree about tavarez hes the guy you bring in with runners on in that situation although i think van buren should start to get some more looks, the kid has looked really good right now in our bullpen i trust paps with anything, (timlin injured), i trust foulke, tavarez, delcarmen, and van buren decently, i dont trust seanez or riske
  5. that would be perfect if willy mo wasnt on the dl, he could dh
  6. man i really hope hes okay hes really playin well plus i just picked him up in fantasy but if hes out what do we do do we move youk to third and play snow/hee sop at first do we play cora/loretta at third what about willie harris
  7. what are pauley's numbers this yr
  8. id rather have odalis perez than kyle lohse or gil meche
  9. wo, woooo slow down i never said i wasnt happy with the trade im just never understood why we had to include murton in the deal, especially going to chicago it wouldve been diff if montreal had gotten him
  10. i still dont really get why we had to include him in that trade i especially dont get why the cubs got him in the deal anyway, he hit a hr in his first ab of the yr when we traded him i said he would be a 30 hr guy he could be
  11. i guess theyre high on him prob wouldve been a nice lefty setup guy for us
  12. usually i have some tix by now, but dont yet part of it is due to the fact im graduating in may and dont have a job yet, so i dont know if im gonna still be in boston or not i kinda wanna get some tix for aug 18-my 22nd bday, the sox are playin the yanks, at home! which has never happened on my bday, usually they play a west coast team i have a feeling my girlfriend or parents are gonna get me tix for it
  13. he was claimed off waivers why was he released
  14. wow this is weird on espnnews bottom line does this mean we move youk back to third?
  15. whats great is this gives us a rf for next yr when we let trot walk
  16. he was supposed to be a top ten pick goin into draft night, and then the lakers took bynum, and green was that one guy who just fell a few months before the draft i saw one mock that had him going first overall he then became the consensus number three pick but then all of a sudden, other guys started rising and he fell to a "top ten" guy every draft there is one guy that just falls for some reason, and he was that guy as for the pt issue, he's starting to get more now, and i've been pushing for it for a while too but, i dont think he should get 20 mins he should get around 10 mins a game once delonte and perk come back, he still should, scal is the guy who shouldnt be gettin any mins
  17. for those who dont know: the cut of willie now means that he will cost us a lil less than $1.5 mill against the cap (what was left of his signing bonus) even if he doesnt re-sign with us if we had kept him past next week he was due a roster bonus of $3.5 mill, and a base salary of $3.5 mill, if we had kept him and not done anything he wouldve cost about $8.5 mill against the cap we obviously were not gonna have that hopefully now they will re-sign him but whatever he is against the cap will be added to the $1.5 hes aready costing us because of the prorated signing bonus
  18. ive been a patsfans.com member for years its a great site i actually write articles on the 12th man page its a site i check every day for news etc all of you should go check it out
  19. johnny damon .300 avg, 30 2bs, 13 hrs, 80 rbi, 120 runs, .360 obp, .770 ops my new edited cf-coco crisp .290 avg, 40 2bs, 22 hrs, 80 rbi, 120 runs, .355 obp, .855 ops in other words coco will have a better yr than johnny at a much lower price AND the seperation will get greater as the yrs go on
  20. ksushi i was originally going to post coco crisp at 50 doubles then i looked at his numbers in 2003: 15 in 2004: 24 2005: 42 yes, the numbers keep going up, but only one good yr of doubles and you would think it would keep going up as did i, until i did my homework i realized wait a minute, the jake isnt a great hr park, but it is good for doubles and triples so, i looked at his splits last yr doubles: home: 27 away: 15 i prob shouldve put his double projection at 40 though away should be around 18 home should be 22 so let me take away 35, and put 40 instead which will boost his ops a little too (i also looked at renterias numbers, who i thought would have about 45 2bs last yr, but last yr he had his least amount of doubles in three yrs)
  21. before every yr, i too make offensive predictions so here they are c-jason varitek .280 avg, 20 hrs, 75 rbi, .375 obp, .865 ops 1b-kevin youkilis .280 avg, 18 hrs, 70 rbi, .410 obp, .800 ops 2b-mark loretta .300 avg, 30 2bs, 15 hrs, 70 rbi, 100 runs, .365 obp, .850 ops ss-alex gonzalez .260 avg, 30 2bs, 14 hrs, 75 rbi, .325 obp, .745 ops 3b-mike lowell .260 avg, 22 hrs, 95 rbi, .355 obp, .845 ops lf-manny ramirez .310 avg, 35 2bs, 42 hrs, 155 rbi, .405 obp, 1.005 ops cf-coco crisp .290 avg, 35 2bs, 22 hrs, 80 rbi, 120 runs, .355 obp, .855 ops rf-trot nixon .280 avg, 30 2bs, 20 hrs, 80 rbi, .375 obp, .865 ops dh-david ortiz .310 avg, 45 2bs, 58 hrs, 180 rbi, .405 obp, 1.075 ops
  22. thanks sfoc this is what i wanted to see although i thought we also gave like one mill in the cleveland trade but that would only bring coco+agonzalez to 10.75 anyway 9.75 or 10.75 as compared to 23 is a great move by the sox ur getting as good defense in cf, and better defense at ss ur getting about the same offense at cf, but worse offense at ss BUT ur saving 12 million dollars thats a lot of money and an efficient move by the sox
  23. the reason im asking how much we payed to atl is becuz we were trying to save moiney at cf when we didnt wanna pay jd wat he wanted, and im glad they did what they did what it is, is how much money are we giving up per yr, for the right to have coco crisp on our team both trades involved money, and without both trades we dont have coco
  24. pats could also be interested in antwaan randel-el i really want us to re-sign givens, but he might demand too much money jurivicius would be a nice add if we lose givens but we still need a number three, slot wr troy brown is close to being done greg jennings in the third round out of western mich would be a nice pick or, randel-el could fill that number three hole, although hell prob demand number two money when you rely on the pass as much as we do, you need a better number three wr than brown/davis
  25. well it kinda does have to do with coco cuz in essence we are paying that money that we gave to atlanta for the right to have coco crisp nobody has answered my question how much per yr are we paying atl?
