  1. I can't believe I just traded Curt in my other league, and now he's pitching a perfect game sigh...
  2. man and I just traded Curt in my other league
  3. dude, I wasn't insinuating anything. Just having a little tongue in cheeck fun with the connection thats all. I need to do this on a Friday when we all relaxed form school or work
  4. well partially anyway (Giambi's game 7 HRs). After Mitchell's sit down with Giambi, he'll probably get suspended. Not saying there's a connection since Mitchell's a Red Sox board director. I wonder what Mitchell would do if David Ortiz admitted he may have used steroids. Makes you wonder why baseball didn't appoint someone with much less potential for conflict. Fay Vincent would have been a nice choice. LINK http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/blog/mlb_experts/post/Five-and-Fly-Perp-walk-on-a-tightrope;_ylt=AoYPlHt7TcXi0VNIRSLeDWMRvLYF?urn=mlb,35857
  5. I'm sure he had worse things than a broken finger when he was performing well. Damon played with a broken bone in his foot last year. face it, some guys just weren't meant to play in NY or Boston. renteria was one, and now Crisp looks like one of those also.
  6. you're right, Varitek has it much worse. My apologies to him.
  7. One performs at a high level (or used to despite his injuries), while the other doesn't.
  8. I'm sure Varitek has a gazillion more injuries. thats a nasty picture BTW.
  9. I forgot who were the ones who were dogging me when I said that Crisp would not perform well in Boston whent eh trade was first announced, but I know there were a lot of people
  10. That 0-2 fastball was Beckettesque. Good for us, bad break for Sox fans.
  11. In all my time playing the game, I've never had a teammate communicate to me that he got the ball by yelling "hah".
  12. Fernando Vina had the right assessment on the situation. He didnt think it was dirty, but that given the situations and controversies surrounding A-Rod, he shouldn't have done it. On the other hand, Clark is a moron for not catching that ball and being distracted by it. His analysis, not mine. he didnt say moron, but it was very close to it.
  13. you must be playing with mutes then.
  14. yeah but the thing is, we've all played in games and had this done to us. The guy's just embarassed he actually for it.
  15. not a fan of A-Rod, but serisouly, what he did is something we've all tried to do during a game. If you're gonna rip him for trying to distract the player, then please keep your mouth shut and don't make any noise during the game because that might distract the players from doing their best. every game I've played in, guys on the other team always try that. the only reason it's a big deal is because it's Arod. The guy was just embarassed he fell for one of the oldest tricks in the book. How's it any different from a fielder pretending to lose the ball in the lights and screaming "where is it?" to get a baserunner off base?
  16. frankly, he's still a cheater to me. but this is exactly what I am hoping from everyone associated with MLB during the steroids era.
  17. Farnsworth telling it like it is. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2007/baseball/mlb/05/17/bc.bba.yankees.farnsworth.ap/index.html
  18. I dont know if Gabbard is a soft tosser, but Jackson is 100% correct. I think Jamie Moyer has owned us for like the last 10 years. We tend to do terrible against soft tossing lefties AND righties, plus big bonus points for Gabbard being a rookie, we must have the major's worst W-L record against SP we face for the first time in the Joe Torre era.
  19. ugh I wouldnt be shocked considering the problems he's had with those tree trunks of his the last few years
  20. tee hee, I love drama when its not happening on my team. now hopefully we can get some cheap losses out of this little drama. http://www.courant.com/sports/baseball/hc-redsoxnotes0511.artmay11,0,2859726.story?coll=hc-headlines-baseball
