  1. Whoa, I did NOT know he's 26-27. Man he was pretty good last year too, I'd love to see that production outta Youkilis this year or next if he gets the chance .289 BA, .408 OBP, .479 SLG, 15 HRs, 74 RBIs Also I already knew this but he's very good defensively with only 5 erros last year. I like him more already by just lookin at his stats.
  2. I guess they are true, but Thomas is actually kinda smart playin it so low key, makes the otehr guy look like an ******* even if the statements are true.
  3. But then why wouldn't the Nats just talk to the Mest first and get a pitcher along with Milledge? That is by far a better deal then just Arroyo, though Arroyo is better then most if not 4/5 of the Mets rotation.
  4. No, if we get even close to not re-signing Ortiz, or far worse actually LOSE him, then the FO loses all credibility, Theo included. Also that would give all the other guys we hate or lost in FA who talked shmack about the Sox FO right to what they did. Lucchino and company would be boo'd out of town.
  5. If you look at those stats they aren't too different besides HRs
  6. I don't like that trade really, I'm fine with Youk instead of giving up Arroyo for Johnson. Then again, I dont know much about Church, though I assume think he's a good spect?
  7. Then after all that, Koby decides he wants to pitch to Rogah and throws behind him
  8. This is just a bad move overall unless there areother pieces involved, and theyd have to go heavily in our favor. Don't want him at 2nd, won't play any other posistion, basically a bad clubhouse guy, good power, good speed, but that about does it. He'd be a good DH, but we got that filled.
  9. Ahhh, 'tis great to see the future come into shape, Lester also impressed
  10. True, he was an a-hole then, but now he's on our team, so if we brawl with the Yanks, we'll have a nice compliment to Ortiz, who nearly layed down a full punch on Sturtze.
  11. Why? only weakness he has is with the stick, otherwise he's solid. Good handling of staff, good caller, good defense, and great clubhouse influence.
  12. I have a feeling he won't be with us that long
  13. Yeah, seabeach, you can't just rush prospects in, though future potential stars like Papelbon, Lester, pedroia and such could possibley hand it. But we already somehwat wrecked Cla Meredith's confidence when we rushed him up. Also Papelbon has never pitched over 130 innings, so putting him as a reliever for 1 season might not be a bad idea. He could make spot starts and maybe total up to 100+ if all goes well, maybe even more.
  14. Yeah, though Minny is the dark house in that prediction, they could end up takin home the crown
  15. Okay, here's my unbiased prediction for the AL east: 1) Tampa Bay 2) Baltimore 3) Minnesota 4) Boston 5) Kansas City You really can't predict these things until maybe amonth in to see how all the question marks turn out.
  16. That'd be good, but I think Wells would go West Coast, and that'd be cheap of us just to get him out of one bad situation into another. That would also maybe mean Wells would want to be traded from there also. I would most certainly trade Clement to an NL team for Broadway.
  17. Thank god, this is one of the few guys that actually see's the improvements we have made, and not the "disasterous offseason" because we lost Damon. Also, I'm not sure that rotation is a lock, what he said anyway. I'm sure we'd love to see papelbon in the rotation, but putting him in the bullpen might be a better way to ease him into the fold. He'd pitch like 70 innings and would be more prepared to handle 200 the following season.
  18. Yeah, otherwise he would almost be a lock for the backup job
  19. Ya never know if We trade Wells to SD and somehow get Belli back into the thick of things.
  20. Flaherty, great defense, veteran experience, good clubhouse guy, also he caught RJ.
  21. Who knows he could pull a Schilling
  22. I think Wells will be traded except that it might turn out that we get crap in return and trade him just so he's happy. I agree with putting Matt in the 5th spot so he faces teams he's more comfortable with, yeah, I hate when the jays face him, and they'll be that much scarier then last year. Except he's probably faced Overbay a ton.
  23. Wow, how different things wouldv'e turned out. Thank God that didn't happen
  24. Dotel was nasty when he was 28, posting a 1.85 ERA in 83 games for Houston. The next two seasons he had sub 3 ERAs and with Oakland saw a whole run added to his ERA, maybe because of the league switch.
