  1. Hanley Ramirez, of the Florida Marlins, and Justin Verlander , of the Detroit Tigers, have won the Rookie of the Year awards for their respective leagues.
  2. It's official.
  3. Don't bother. The Yankees could trade their Low - A backup catcher for Johan Santana and 700 would be talking about how the Yankees are destroying their farm system for aging talents.
  4. Exactly the point I was trying to make.
  5. I don't think you should pin this one on the Yankees. I doubt Cashman called up the Tigers and asked for three of their good pitching prospects for an aging, deteriorating outfielder.
  6. For future reference, I'm a big fan of section 8 in the Upper Deck.
  7. Folks, if you ever want to see someone who has no idea what they're talking about...here's a prime example.
  8. For those keeping track, here are the winning bids so far... Red Sox: 38 to 45 million Rangers: 35 million Yankees: 27 million Angels: 28 million And at the same time, Seibu was not happy with the amount being offered. This process leaves way too much room for speculation.
  9. I wonder what his reception at Yankee Stadium will be like. He didnt exactly go out on good terms.
  10. None of the pitchers involved in the deal were left handed.
  11. I know; it's the complete opposite of the type of trade the Yankees are known for making. Hail Cashman
  12. The Yankees and Tigers have agreed on a Gary Sheffield trade, SI.com has learned. In return, the Yankees will acquire highly touted right-hander Humberto Sanchez and Class A pitchers Kevin Whelan and Anthony Claggett, according to a Tigers source. The Tigers will extend Sheffield's contract for two years beyond the one year and $13 million remaining. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2006/baseball/mlb/11/10/sheffield.tigers/index.html Good riddance.
  13. The board of directors for the Lions is going to have a meeting to discuss the offer on Friday then announce its decision. With the time difference, the meeting should be happening around midnight tonight.
  14. Trade him for nothing. It's more than he ever was going to do for this team.
  15. It's foolish to argue the same thing many times, especially if you're just going to repeat the same facts, arguments, and (inevitably) insults. However, it seems like everyone is more than content to do that.
  16. Edit: Never mind. You're all pretty foolish most of the time, if you ask me.
  17. You're wrong. I'd be very surprised if the Cub's shortstop somehow managed to get to the plate in a Yankees - Red Sox game.
  18. I doubt he'd be our #1 starter. Probably #2, after Wang.
  19. No thanks.
  20. Yeah, gold gloves are pretty much a joke.
  21. I really think that Matsuzaka will end up with a team other than the Yankees.
  22. Why would you care that Craig Counsell has more rings than the Cubs' short stop?
  23. The Cards didn't even look that excited last night.
