  1. Every team has concerns about the back end of their rotation. I don't know why that's so shocking for some people here.
  2. The missing piece has been found. Print those world series tickets.
  3. Cashman's reaction to that screeching noise from the microphone was priceless.
  4. Oh well. It was a fair offer and if he doesn't want it, well that's his option as a player. No team is going to offer him more than $10 million, especially if the Yankees declare they're not going to budge and are done negotiating.
  5. It'll be interesting to see how he's received at Yankee Stadium.
  6. It's a major construction job in Boston...what do you think?
  7. I'm fine with either headline.
  8. Glad to see the Giants decided to start playing again. Great game to secure home field in the playoffs.
  9. Congrats to the Detroit Lions on their historic achievement today.
  10. Yeah, Seibu is just trying to jack up the price. Genius move on their GM's part.
  11. Everything I've heard said it was going to be on Thursday. http://www.nypost.com/seven/12162008/sports/yankees/burnett__sabathia_take_physicals_144501.htm
  12. Johan Santana is 1 - 3 in the post season. What does that make him?
  13. Exactly, to both points. Someone's definition of "ace" is being clouded by team loyalties.
  14. I don't know what's funnier, that you actually wrote that or you might actually believe it. It's mid - December and the Yankees have added the top free agent on the market, one of the top pitchers on the market, and, by nearly all indicators, aren't done yet. Yeah, a #9 hitter who can hit 25 home runs and see a ton of pitches per at bat is nothing. I sure wish we had Julio Lugo, Alex Cora, or Jason Varitek to put in there instead. I really hope you're not using this as an indicator of Burnett's talent. Please tell me you're not. First, he was pitching for teams that went 811 - 808 (.501) while he pitched for them. Second, we all know wins are not the best statistic to look at. In three years of pitching in the AL East the highest ERA he's put up was 4.07. He's struck out 525 while walking 191 (a nearly 3:1 ratio.) Oh, and not to mention, when he's on he has some of the best stuff in the game. If you're going to bash him, at least use something relevant like his injury history. Hmmm...I wonder why someone would think we're a much better team than last year. Oh yeah... Sabathia, Wang, Burnett, Pettitte, Joba >>> Moose, Pettitte, Joba, Kennedy, Hughes, Rasner, Ponson, etc. Not that pitching is important or anything.
  15. Great news, if it's true. Incredible reference.

  17. Wow, all those people that left must be heading for the nearest bridge right now....
  18. You guys need to start breaking out some Gom mojo....
  19. Is anyone surprised by this turn of events? I'm not.
  20. I really think you'd have to be a huge fool to bury the Red Sox before 27 outs are recorded.
