  1. Edit: Check one of the other two threads.
  2. I guess the fans aren't the only ones who can get it wrong.
  3. The next four games are gonna define what happens over the rest of the season. I only hope this team knows that and plays like it.
  4. Girardi kept the clubhouse closed for over 30 minutes after tonight's pathetic effort. Wouldn't want to be on the end of whatever he was spewing...
  5. Good time for the offense to make its return. Especially since, as the Yankees score nine runs in the bottom of the seventh, the Sox seem to be heading in the opposite direction down in Tampa. We can only hope the trend continues this weekend. But I won't hold my breath...wouldn't be shocked to see the Sox come into the Bronx and end up taking 3.
  6. Joba doesn't have good (or any it would seem) control tonight. Rangers push across their second run...
  7. It's interesting to see Matsui go from an iron man with that streak to an injury proned player after that one wrist injury a few years ago. Let's hope this isn't an extended stay on the DL for him. If it is, the Yankees might need to go after another bat (while looking for a pitcher to step in for Wang at the same time.) I wouldn't be too surprised to start hearing some whispers calling for signing Mr. Bonds.
  8. I almost thought it was July and I was watching the homerun derby, There were some huge shots in the "game." And by "game" I mean the few hours when the Yankees watched the Mets score runs and play baseball.
  9. One of the Yankees' saviors of 2005 isn't doing too well in Houston. Chacon Suspended After Attacking Houston's GM
  10. I definitely know someone who'd be interested in this. Let me know some more details if you could.
  11. Youk would do that.
  12. This game will never end.
  13. Winning streak ends at 7...understandable considering who started for the Reds. Oh well, just gonna have to start a new streak tomorrow. ...and hopefully that ground out is enough to make Giambi shave that thing above his lip.
  14. Moose will probably be getting the loss for this one, but got to love that he pitched deep into the game. The bullpen needs to be saved for tomorrow (who knows what we're going to get from Giese?).
  15. Molina had all day to block the plate but still missed him. Geeze.
  16. Is Damon taking fielding practice with Cano or something?
  17. Cano - no. Followed up by Molina pick off! Nice play.
  18. Ken Griffey Jr. gets a nice applause from the crowd. Good to see...(especially after that DP.)
  19. Not surprised by this at all. I'm surprised it didn't come after those clubhouse and dugout fights between him and players.
  20. The Red Sox will be going up against an NL West team as well. You guys will be facing Arizona next week.
  21. Mo nails down the Yankees' seventh win in a row. Good game.
  22. It's great to watch Joba get better and better with each start. It's becoming very clear that his stuff can translate to this new role and he can be effective over 100 pitches. With Wang gone until at least September, Joba is going to be an important part of this rotation. If he can continue to pitch like this, it's one less spot in the rotation the Yankees will have to worry about.
  23. And sure enough, it's 2 on with no outs.
  24. I'm having trouble deciding what's worse: the Padres' defense or the Padres' offense. ...now that I say that, they'll end up scoring 10 runs in the next inning.
