I was never for it for the amount he got. My max for him would have been 240. And even that would have been stretching it. Some of the players of his comparison are out producing him and getting paid way less
Devers has a weak glove. That didn't stop them for giving him a boatload. Yes I know he's more proven than Casas.
Casas has also potential to be a better hitter than Devers. Whether or not he will be it's too soon to tell.
That's the gamble you take. Casas might bet on himself and hold out on a contract rather than taking what the Sox are offering.
And if your the Red Sox, how much are you willing to give a player based on one year
If Freeman was a free agent he would be getting over 30Mil easily in today's game. Maybe 25 was stretching a bit but I'm sure he's looking for 20 Mil for sure
Anyone has any loopholes (codes) to get great deals on the Verb or Commonwealth hotel? Usually when I go to games I stay far out and take the train(subway) but this time I'd like to stay where I can just walk to the hotel after the game. But these hotel prices are ridiculous
He was aided a lot by dink hits and little dribblers for singles. In fact I think he led the league in infield hits last year. He's not going to get lucky every year on these.
His AVG got a boost from this last year which inflitated his OPS some. Notice how so far this year not much of his dinky dribblers are working out for him
I wouldn't event say he can field. He missed played a liner last year VS Toronto that would of been the final out of the and instead Toronto walked off on them. And the silly drop from the other day. He hasn't impressed me much on the field overall yet
He's going to be 28 this year. He's hit his ceiling. He might have one year where he will hit 40 but I wouldn't expect that unless he changes his approach.
